Hahaha my inlaws were here for the beginning of the series and my MIL asked where Don Cherry was. We had to explain to her Don Cherry doesn't exist down here. She was disturbed that we could watch Hockey without Don Cherry.

The end of hockey season is like what I anticipate the end of vacation at WDW will be like at our house. When does hockey start again? Can we watch miracle/mighty ducks etc? When do we go play hockey again? Fortunately they are playing right now and won't have much break until march. These boys just eat, breath, and drink hockey.

Congrats Canes even though we were hoping for the Oilers to win (even though this is an AVALANCHE house) I was just thrilled that it went to game 7 and that both ds's got to watch the cup ceremony. They will be lifting a trophy kissing it tomorrow during our nightly match. Too funny.

It was a great series and I think the better team won. And the "Beat the Red Wings in the playoffs, lose the Cup in seven games" curse is still alive! It was also nice since my older son and I went to see the Hurricanes play Washington when we were in DC over Spring Break this year.

Even though the Wings didn't make it, this year, we can take comfort in the fact that Ray Whitney used to be a Red Wing, Aaron Ward played for U. of Michigan, and Rod Brind'amour played for Michigan State!
