We are in WDW next week on rented points.
We are concerned about TS Gaston, although no one is sure of his path, it seems it may come towards florida.

If we are unable to leave WDW on Friday due to the storm, how would we stay another night? I am thinking we would have to pay for it based on availability, possibly even changing resorts?

Has anyone experienced this?

You would have to pay for it- to Disney based on availability.

As others mentioned, it is dependent on availability. I have found that the hurricanes "usually" are not much of a threat to Orlando. The coasts are another story.

It's way too early to tell where Gaston will go, and it has been downgraded to a Tropical Depression with the 11 AM advisory. But that's just temporary. Slow intensification is expected, with Gaston reaching Category 1 hurricane intensity at about five days out.

Even five days from now (Tuesday), Gaston is not expeted to have reached the Lesser Antillies, so you have plenty of time to watch and worry, but I doubt if it could reach Orlando by next Friday.

We were able to spend another day at Disney on December 20th when our flight home was canceled due to a blizzard back home.

Disney was wonderful finding us a room.
MS said there were no rooms available at our resort but we ended up staying in our resort in the same room.
We could have paid cash or used points.

I'm sure this time of year most resorts have availabilty.
You would need to pay for your room.
You could probably pick any resort to stay at, Value to Deluxe.
