From the latest weather report, looks like Hurricane Wilma might affect the WDW vacationers as early as this Sunday, October 23rd. :earseek: For all of you that are headed to the Mouse House the week following that, bring your ponchos! :umbrella: Have a Disney day! :earsboy:

We're down here now and the weather is perfect. We leave Saturday morning so hopefully she takes her time making landfall.

:earseek: :earseek: YIKES :earseek: :earseek: Now Wilma is a category 5 hurricane :earseek: :earseek: It's predicted to track right over the mid-section of Florida, right over Orlando. :earseek: :earseek: Air travel into MCO will probably be disrupted. Y'all be careful!!

Last year, our flight was cancelled, because of a hurricane, so we used the ticket to rebook a little later this year..we leave Monday. Of course it could always change, but it looks like if it goes the course they are suspecting, it will hit on Saturday and then keep going. I didn't see any mention of it stalling over FL, and the right now the extended forcast for next week looks pretty good. If this one gets cancelled, I'm not sure when we would rebook, as we have a lot going on.
I just hope and pray, it weakens and no one has to go through this again. Cancelling a vacation is no biggy, compared to the devastation this could cause.

Well, actually the latest track takes the eye a lot further south of Orlando, actually south of Lake Okechobee, but either way the weather will be wet and windy. This could all change at any time.

Wilma or not I'm going in 2 days. :Pinkbounc

Well...maybe this will make everyone feel better. Some of the latest computer/weather models are predicting Wilma to move even further south. Apparently, the Wilma is slowing down and weakening even further. Some meteorologists are saying that would push Wilma on a more southerly track, possibly missing Florida completely. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Here is the article I read from an Orlando TV station.

Yesterday we were watching Orlando news and the local weatherman predicted the storm would not pass a Cat 3 even though the NHC was saying a Cat 4 or maybe even a 5.

Well, we all know what happened last night. Cat 5.

I live in between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. I'm supposed to drive to Orlando tomorrow w/ my two kids and spend a little time w/ my BIL and his brand new bride. We aren't doing MNSSHP unfortunatley... right now I'm constantly checking the weather forecasts. Yeah, Wilma they say won't get here 'til Sunday now, but I'm worried about the driving conditions on Saturday, we're only going for Friday, gonna spend the night and come home Sat.
I THINK it'll be cool... not gonna make any final decisions til later today...
*fingers crossed*

:sunny: I have been watching and it looks like its not even going to hit Florida....
but you know the weather people... Man I hope everyone and everything will be okay!!!!

I will keep my fingers, toes, arms, legs and what ever else I need to cross that Wilma will go away from the happiest place on earth!!!!! :sunny:

I'd love this, but I'm curious as to where you are seeing that? I've got about 8 sites up and they all think it will.

Looks like WDW will be spared the brunt of Hurricane Wilma. :teeth: Keep those umbrellas handy,... just in case! :umbrella:

Looks like all they'll get is rain and some wind which is good. We made it home yesterday thank goodness.

Latest forecast is predicting winds gradually increasing beginning tonight...topping out at 50-60mph tomorrow (specifically around 2pm...when I am supposed to land). I'm confident I'll be spending some quality time at the Houston airport. Maybe I should bring a pillow with me...

Let's hope that the damage of the impending storm is minimal. Get those umbrella's out! :umbrella:

Will do...tomorrow I will have to just be patient. I hate flying...so knowing that they will delay me to KEEP ME SAFE...well, that's all I need to know! Sitting in the airport and enjoying some alone time reading will be new for me...I'll just have to embrace it. Hoping that the storm moves faster than they are predicting...not only for me (because we can all be a little selfish..), but for those living in Florida. I'd love to be in Orlando tomorrow evening -- REALLY want to see Wishes at MK.

WDW closed Fort Wilderness this morning as a precaution. All of the guests were moved to Pop Century.

Just want to keep the Wilma posts updated. 2 DISers from Orlando reported that WDW parks will be closed Monday morning. Weather permitting, they may reopen one or more of the parks later in the day.
