Hurricane Rina?

OK, so I need to hear it from experienced Floridians. What's the deal with this storm/hurricane? We are flying down from Ohio on Friday afternoon. I'm fine if it hits while there as I've heard how safe the buildings are but I hate to fly, none the less with a possible hurricane coming. HELP!!!!

www.wftv.com is a great local weather station. They don't think it will be anywhere near Central FL. It still bears watching though.

Odds of it hitting us are pretty slim. Honestly its been pretty unpredictable so far and we are within the prediction area for it so like the pp mentioned it is worth watching.

One thing I do feel confident about is even if it does track northward it wont be a strong storm, there is too much wind shear that it will have to deal with.

Thank you both for your responses. I'll check the website, keep an eye on things and make a mental note not to freak out. I'm not worried about what comes once we land, but would prefer not to fly into a storm...but I guess I don't get to choose

It's pretty funny, I was actually visiting a website to help calm my nerves about flying, then heard on NPR that a possible Hurricane was heading in our direction. Maybe it's just God's way of giving me amazing relief before my flight. I'll be so happy that I don't have to fly through a storm that a typical flight won't be a big deal...so I tell myself
