Hurricane Milton

My guess is that Polk county wasn't on the map for those evacuating from the coast and didn't get any/many pre-staged tankers. Also, we saw on the news there was an electrical problem at the port that kept the tanker ships from being unloaded. Luckily I filled up several days before the storm was predicted to hit so I'm good for now, but like you I'll need to fill up again before too long.
Which is hilarious because here in central florida - Lakeland-Winter Haven area Haven eye they all come! Happens every time. That's why we had to evacuate clear to Orlando. & a bunch of them are now stuck in the motels & hotels here because there's no gas to get back home.

Got power back this morning (Brevard). Didn't see any of the gas issues but some store shelves are bare, especially bread, milk and paper product aisles.

Popped out to the closest grocery nearby me (live in Lake Alfred) & "real" food in very short supply BUT the ice cream & treats cases were stocked full - I can live on ice cream for a few days 😉

They have set up free fueling depots in Pinellas, Pasco, Hillsborough and Manatee Counties, but my understanding is that the lines are hours long because even people who don't really need fuel are lining up to get it for free.

Plus most of us here in Polk County don''t have enough gas to even get all the way over there - everyone would be better served if the tankers distributing the "free gas" were simply sent to actual gas stations for us to access 🙄

We have gas now and no lines. 15 minute drive here from where you are.

Where are you located? Which station?

My friend from work just texted me that she finally found gas at the WaWa around the corner from our work in Lakeland, so hopefully this means gas is finally getting into the stations around here!

BP on 33 just past Berkley Rd. There's a Chevron right next to it, same side of the Rd. The 7-11 on 33 after you pass under 4 has gas but there's lines. Maybe a better price?

Got gas this morning on the way to work in Auburndale at the WaWa on Havendale Blvd. :) - I'm seeing LOTS more with lights & gas - I left early for work at 6:30 to "gas hunt" LOL - Hit pay dirt at my first stop!

Thanks so much again stratman50th - if I didn't find any in Lakeland today, I was going to head your way
