I have been planning my mom's first Disney trip for a few months. Great deal at AKL, cool reservations, cake, and tiara. The whole nine yards.

Now Earl wants to come up the coast and mess with our trip. We are supposed to leave Tommorow.

AirTran is offering to let you change the dates of your trip. I have to call Disney and see what can be done about our room and if the rate is still available. The storm is not supposed to hit Maryland until Friday but we are flying through states where the storm would be going through so there may be a delay with that. Should I change trip now or wait until the morning to see how the storm is tracking?

I am so disappointed right now. :sad2:

I was going to suggest you leave now but I see that the last flight leaves in 1.5 hours...

Why don't you switch to the flight that is first thing tomorrow morning then you will probably be ahead of things.

Truthfully - I would imagine that they will just fly around the storm and you flight tomorrow should be just fine. I just read an article and it lists the affected cities for most airlines and not all of them have included Baltimore in their affected airport list so I think that you should be fine!

By the time you are done in Disney - Earl will no longer be a concern!!!

I want to change to an early morning flight but I have to work tomorrow. Sucks for me. I may risk going into work tonight to do some stuff and try to change my flight for the morning.

More time at disney for me. That might be a good plan.

If conditions aren't bad at your airport they can easily get around any bad weather.

Well,

I was able to change my flight to an earlier flight which worked in our benefit. Now I am considering if we should stay an extra day since the airline is going three days out from return date. HMMMM.

Now all I have to do is change DME reservation and go to work at 4:30 in the morning to get a report done.

Packing is done. Cell phones are charged. Tickets are printed.

We are flying down today as well - and I've been checking weather reports for two days! From what I have been able to find out - they can easily fly further inland (up to an hour from the coast) and increase the speed of the jet and still make it the original flight schedule work!

We are very excited - we just hope Earl and Fiona don't get in our way!

A little rain wouldn't be horrible - but I'd prefer 85 degree and partly cloudy! :) :cool1:

:lmao:

Kim, wishing you safe travels. Hope you two have a blast.

Safe travels. I have relatives who are supposed to be flying into Maryland today so hoping the weather continues to hold.

I was flying to Florida on Saturday, but Jetblue let me switch the flight to tomorrow morning. Luckily, my boss let me take tomorrow at the last minute.

I still don't know if I made the right decision. I thought it was better to try to beat the storm, but now it looks like it will be out of here by tomorrow night and I still could have flown on Saturday with no problem. We only get a limited number of vacation days a year and I hate wasting one.
