I wanted to start a thread to post the updates and projected paths to keep all of us informed in Florida and those who are coming to Fl. Maybe the mods will pick this up or start a new one as a sticky. Some of FL still has no television but may have power/phone back so this might help them keep track of everything in one place. I will start in 30 minutes by posting the 11am update. Till then everyone keep your eyes open and keep sending PD our way.

I tell you its never ending here in FL...Its really starting to get old...

They are cautioning us on TV not to get too wrapped up in the exact track as there is still a huge margin of error. They have to see what happens with the highs and the lows and the "troughs"(sp?). I'll make sure I have some basic supplies on hand but I'm not going to start freaking out and losing sleep over this until about Saturday night when it's alot closer. DH says we're definitely boarding up for this one though. Everybody here(west coast south of Tampa) is pretty scared this time as we've skirted the bullet twice now.

Anyway, just get prepared and don't freak out( yet)

I just got back from Atlanta where I went to escape Frances. I guess I will just leave all the prep I did for Frances in place. I am mind-numblingly tired of hurricanes. I so hope that Ivan will go someplace else even though I don't want to wish it on anyone. (If that makes sense)

Very, very, very OLD! Perhaps a Move to another State is needed.....:p

It makes perfect sense.

We were in Orlando this time last week and left around 8p.m. to miss Frances.

I tell you it was sooo stressful on us driving in all that traffic, I can't imagine having to go through evacuations over and over and over.

My prayers and well wishes to all of you in Florida!

You know though, even with the Hurricanes if my DH walked in right now and said Lets move to Florida I would be there in a split second!

Anywhere it hits land on Florida is going to be a worry. We already have damage on both East and West Coast. There are so many people still without power as of today from Frances.

We just can't handle anymore storms.

i have all of florida in my prayers, i am moving down there in a month and i'm a bit nervous, i have no family just a few friends, and we don't get hurricanes in ohio......but i honestly would rather deal w/ the hurricanes then with 6 months of cold and snow.....stay safe florida and everyone that's in the path of Ivan.

Kristin

Maybe I'll get power back to my house just in time to get it the lines knocked down again. Day 5 = no water/power.

I'm having so much fun this month I can't stand it.

Not.

It's been six days since I've had power, phone or water in my home. So I've set up camp across town at my mom's home till my power is restored. FPL is telling me it will have an estimate by late this evening for a date of restoration. Since we have well water we won't have water till the power comes on, and our phone is through our Cable Modem so same there. Geesh we are reliant on power aren't we... I would have never survived the pre-electricity age...::yes::

On top of everything else we can't get perishable foods here yet, we did find some deli meat and my mom grabbed the last two boxes of hamburgers, but no fresh meats, frozen items, produce or dairy yet. Also gas is still touch and go, and the wait at restraurants is astronomical. No fun! :earseek:

I have often thought that it would be nice to move to Florida, just for a change, I live in PA, nothing ever happens here... but I think that I would take nothing over hurricanes....

Stay safe!!

For the Keys:
a mandatory evacuation order has been made for all visitors and non-residents. Owners of travel trailers and boat trailers should also remove their property from the keys at this time. Mobile home residents should prepare for evacuation beginning at 600 pm this evening. A phased evacuation of all residents in the Florida keys and flamingo may be initiated tomorrow. All residents that wish to leave today are encouraged to do so.

My convention in Miami for Sun-Wed was just cancelled this morning and is to be rescheduled for next month.
