So...is anyone else scheduled to go to WDW when Ivan might hit...are you trying to reschedule or are you going???

We are supposed to leave Thursday but are unsure now because of Ivan...
Anyone else? What are you going to do??

We are leaving to go the 17th. We are still planning the trip, b/c hopefully Ivan will have passed. The weather info that I have read mostly seems to indicate that Ivan will head to the Gulf region (panhandle, Alabama, or possibly Texas).

I hope that Florida is spared this one...they have had enough!

I'm leaving on Friday and according to accuweather.com the forecasted path takes it down below Florida and into the gulf. However since it's projected that it won't hit that area until Sun/Mon, I'll still go. Some rain isn't going to stop me.

Besides, Florida needs all the tourist dollars they can get after Charley and Frances.

I'm going as planned. I figure Ivan is less likely to hit Orlando than Miami and we still have our shutters and everything stowed away so what the heck.

If its any consolation, I have heard that hurricaines that form that low in the Southern Caribbean have not made it to Florida in 100 years.

Looking at the latest map, looks like Ivan will head to the gulf & not central FL.

We head to FL on Friday for dh's conference @ the JW Marriott Grande Lakes. Then, Wed the 15th, we move over to WDW. I'm confident that WDW will be back to normal by then.

We are leaving for a quick trip arriving Thursday and leaving Sunday. I don't think Ivan is going to be a problem. I am more worried about getting stuck in all the traffic with everyone going back home to Florida.

I am going!!!!!! We leave on the 15th flying into MCO. If the airline cancells our flight we will drive. Fingers are crossed that IVAN goes away the good people of Florida have withstood enough.

Have a great time everyone

We are still going - it will cost us a pretty penny if we want to move our dates..so we are leaving tomorrow! :)
Wish us luck!

Annette, that map shows Ivan taking a turn into the gulf, even with that trajectory, Central FL should be hit hard with rain. Most storms will tend to NE at that point and it is highly likely that W. Florida will get a direct hit, and Central FL get a big impact.

This hurracain stuff is just rediculous!!
I know it's after Ivan but I'm heading down there on the 22nd and am praying that there wont be any more bad weather coming our way!!!
Good luck to all of those who are going this weekend...

We are flying into MCO on Saturday, hurricane or no hurricane. If it does hit Orlando, it looks like it'll be Monday or Tuesday. I need this vacation so bad, even sitting in my room at the Boardwalk Villas, watching Finding Nemo over and over again sounds nice. I hope, for all the Floridians sake, that Ivan decides to go elswhere, but I'm still going. Florida needs my money, and I need a vacation!
