Hi.We are from Spain and we don't know nothing about hurricanes. Now we are in Disney World. Tomorrow we will travel to Port Canaveral. It will be safety to drive from Orlando to Port Canaveral? What should we do? thanks

I'm not sure but I envy you that you are already there. We dont fly out till Friday and our cruise is Saturday :-(

The storm path is way north of Orlando (Tallahassee), meaning you should only experience rains and occasional wind gusts - nothing that will seriously impact your drive to PC. Traffic delays/accidents may become an issue so plan to leave 30 minutes or so earlier than usual if you can. If you are driving, AVOID 1-4.

Follow the AIRPORT SIGNS from your resort to toll road 417. Once on the toll road, DO NOT turn north to the airport. Continue east until the 528 exit sign. Keep right and drive straight to terminal 8! $5 or so in tolls can be paid in cash.

Will this storm affect the ships leaving or coming in?

The PP is correct. This is a non-event here in the Orlando area and eastward. It is a little gloomy and we will likely get some rain, but that appears to be the extent of it. Tomorrow we are forcasted for "Periods of rain and storms" which means it will not even be all day, most likely. Have a great time on your cruise!

Hi cheermom2four - I'm a journalist and I was wondering if you'd be willing to chat with me about whether or not the hurricane will be affecting your Labor Day travel plans? Let me know, if so and if you're willing to speak with me for a story.

The storm is heading north of Orlando on the other coast on the Gulf side. The only thing we are getting here are the outer bands of the storm, which is rain, some wind and really great temperatures. :)

Don't worry about it and have a great cruise.

Do you think it is a threat to the Redneck Riviera?

Gulf coast is getting some really nasty weather. And landfall is looking like Tallahassee area and then it is projecting to move upward into the Carolinas on the Atlantic coast. Unless it wears out once it hits North Florida that is. It could slow down quite a bit once it hits land.
