Anyone have any news on the flight status out of orlando or to Orlando at the moment?

My friend is due to leave on the 5.55pm flight from orlando flying virgin, is there anyway of finding out the staus of this plane, i.e. if its going to be delayed etc.

I would say no delays, Earl is in the carolina's right now. The way the UK planes fly into the US is usually over Canada/Maine which will be affected but not till friday night and saturday morning.

I guess it all depends what route the plane takes further south....

Try searching for a flight tracker and the info might be there.

My DH flew from Jacksonville, FL to Norfolk, VA, today with no problems at all.

Thanks for the help :)

I go in 3 weeks and just keeping an eye on the hurricanes, as long as i can get in and out okay i'll be happy.

Hurricane earl has been downgraded to a cat 2 hurricane and is now by passing the coast but is looking to hit Maine soon. They're reckoning that it'll loose steam still though, which is good news for those tavelling this weekend. Let's hope it stays that way.

Just checked online and my friends flight departed ontime, so that's good news.

Glad the hurricane has been downgraded.

Usually when there has been adverse weather in the Atlantic the pilot has taken a more direct route into MCO first seeing land around the KSC Canaveral area rather than the eastern seaboard approach.

I'm flying in 3 weeks too so am keeping tabs on whats going on but last August I worried myself stupid about all this and we were absolutely fine with gorgeous weather our entire vaca. I'm not worrying about it this year. Absolutely nothing we can do anyway right? :cool2:

last year we ended up flying for 10hrs to go around a TS and it took us over grand bahama!

From what i gather unless these TS and hurricanes are heading directly over the flroida state most planes get in and out with slight delays to allow for situations like ours.

It should hit Maine tomorrow morning, I am in MA and its not here yet:) Not happy its on its way but you can't control mother nature.

Just keeping thinking about my next WDW trip to keep the happy thoughts coming:)
