I now want to cancel. Do they refund my dvc points and meal plan? My house flooded in Katrina in Mississippi. A cat 4 is no joke!

Call Member Services. They should have an answer for you regarding the status of your points if you cancel. When Irma hit, they were not only canceling with no holding penalty, they were also a unborrowing points for some owners.

The good thing about that run of the European model is that a lot of the ensemble members show Dorian staying out to sea, and the ensemble mean is actually just offshore. While there would still be impacts to Florida if that were to verify, it would definitely be good news for WDW. Hopefully the models will come into better agreement over the next day or so.

I believe it's the American model that has it taking a slightly more northern track and coming in around the Florida/Georgia area. The European model has it cutting straight across Florida.

I believe it's the American model that has it taking a slightly more northern track and coming in around the Florida/Georgia area. The European model has it cutting straight across Florida.

Previous runs of the European model did have it going across Florida, but the most recent run changed somewhat. The black line (ensemble mean) actually stayed offshore this run. But the important thing is to always check the official NHC track, which still shows a landfalling hurricane moving across Florida.

Forgive my ignorance. But if the storm does what the 5 pm models project, how will this affect the DW area? Did Matthew affect DW? Honestly cant remember. Again, midwestern girl here. Forgive my stupidity. Because I'm reading alot of preliminary signs of relief from posters.

not sure on Matthew , but Irma did cause the cruise right before ours to be canceled. It was strange landing at the MCO airport (our flight from ATL was the first one in after they opened it back up) there were hardly any people there (besides National Guard) Disney had cleaned up considerably but we saw several trees uprooted. And, the resort had a lot locals there. Disney had given them a special rate because of the hurricane. I know this because we switched from the Yacht club to Animal Kingdom Lodge Savannah view and we got a refund of over $150. Our cruise was quick to board since it was ready (the cruise right before had been canceled.)

Anyone know how late Disney customer service stays up? Think I'll wait a bit before I call about changing my tickets for next week.

Also, update on the Amtrak front (if you remember my posts from many pages back): all Florida service has been cancelled from Saturday to Tuesday. Except the Auto Train, which is cancelled Sunday to Tuesday.

If I were you, I'd make a refundable hotel reservation around LAX for Tuesday evening, just in case. You can always cancel it if you don't need it.

Perhaps... a refundable hotel reservation in Anaheim? Then if it looks like you are going to lose a chunk of vacation at WDW you could maybe divert to DL?

Besides out to sea, what's the most optimistic model fr a Saturday through Saturday trip?

That is basically the most/only optimistic model. The rest show it curving and going all the way up Florida very slowly. I am there next week too, but if it is a total washout, I will cancel. I am crossing fingers and toes the turn happens early and it stays offshore.

While Disney closed the parks early and for a full day after Matthew had zero impact on Orlando. It was barely breezy. We had great fun and met some life long new friends while hanging at the resort that day.

We leave tomorrow at 6 am. We literally have no more time to wait and decide Right now, we are still planning on going, but I am going to be SO mad at myself if the entire week ends up being a total washout!

Just some thoughts I’m having -
Wondering if I am crazy to not even look at changing our plans. We fly in Saturday at 9:00 am for 7 days.

The thought of canceling freaks me out because I gradually paid for this trip with mostly gift cards. I believe all of those funds would go back on the individual gift cards - over $4000. I’m not even sure where I put them all

I'm flying in on Wednesday for a 7 night stay (1 night Pop and 6 nights OKW) and don't have it nearly as bad as some of you. I'm heartbroken for those of you who will get the brunt of Dorian. As of now, my concern is flights, hoping all is OK by the 4th on Wednesday but my contingency is making it to Atlanta and renting a car.

Good luck everyone. I know it sucks and it's not what we planned.
