Hurricane and room upgrade?

We are checking into CR on Friday (hopefully before the hurricane so we can land there).

Do you think there may be many cancellations and we could get an upgrade cheap???

Does anybody have any experience at this?

You never know, but you do have the opposite affect too. People who can't get out because the airline is canceled will have to stay put too.

The hurricane is tracking to hit the Orlando area around 5 PM. They said from early morning on Friday to expect a lot of weather so just keep watching the news.

One hotel chain is offering reduced rates to Fl. residents if the storm hits. in Orlando.

Best of luck during the hurricane. We stayed at Disney in September of 1999, and they had to close the parks due to the weather and a lot of the employees were unable to make it to work at the parks and the resorts. We still had a wonderful time though-just a few things that were a pain, but not major. We still made it a great time. Hope yours will be safe and wonderful also!

Believe me Disney willnot be offering discounts due to the weather. Area rooms will be needed for those evacuating the coastal areas.

We are here now and not that concerned with more than lots of rain probably Friday.

Most of the resorts are at capacity this week anyway.

We also stayed in Sept, 99. when the hurricane hit Daytona,, Wayched it all on TV in the room @ Coronado. Don't swim in the pools, they usually shock them ( without telling?) for the extra rain,, Had a great 1/2 day @ Ak on Tues befor they closed early,, was supposed to leave on Wenes---- But stayed 2 extra days instead of ending up in the airport w/ 23678965 other people... Was told by Front desk that the hotels are designed for a 100 mph direct hit w/ no damage--- & that it was the safest place to be,,, GOOD LUCK ( one family thatworks for me is in daytona all this week and will probably look forward to coming home or staying another to make up for it...
