My husband was dead set against celebrating our anniversary at Disney, because we'll be visiting in December and we got married in March.
But, I pointed out that this is our first visit with no kids, just the two of us. As far as I'm concerned, this trip is all about celebrating our relationship. And I reminded him that while we may have gotten married in March, we actually moved in together in December, a couple years prior to getting married.
At which point he said, "Okay, I guess we can celebrate 21 years of being together. Once. At ONE dinner. No buttons!"
So I got right on the phone and called the reservations line. I explained my story and the nice lady on the line said absolutely we should celebrate and she'd put it right on our lunch reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table (first time we'll be eating there, too). She pointed out we could pick up some Anniversary buttons, too, but I said I didn't think my husband would go for that.
I know it doesn't mean anything special will happen at that lunch, but I'm still thrilled that he's willing to go this far. I think it will be a wonderful meal.
