It seems that accourding to Screamscape and The L.A. Times, Disney has decided to disarm the skippers at the Jungle Cruise. Which means the eliminate in the ride where the skippers shot at the hippos has been eliminated entirely. This is once again a big move based on Political Correctness. This eliment was eliminated from the WDW version in 1998 before Animal Kingdom opened up.

What do you guys think?

This was all over the news, Fox News carried it and even one of our Sacramento area talk shows was all over it like it was breaking news. They've been disarmed since the end of April. During our trips we go 2-3 times a day (yep we have kids) and I haven't seen a pop gun since April. Its sad but not the end of the world, though they need to replace it with something other then the baby hippo yelling for its mother wise crack I think.

I meant hippos.....they didn't shoot the elephants did they?

The real problem is that a bullet ricocheted and hit a Country Bear. That is why Country Bears had to close.....have you ever tried to fit a Kodiac with a bullet proof vest? :D

We got an opera joke when we were there.
