Ideas for a gift for my brother?. Some information about him. He is a joker so wouldn't be embarrassed ie. He & DW travel, Mexico fav. Destination. His job was with Hydro in Ontario. Enjoys Poker with his pals.
My dad just retired last year and he got an awesome gag gift:
A diaper cake made with Depends! They also glued little blue pills all over (supposed to be Viagra), purchased hemmorhoid cream, Tums, a magnifying glass, a whistle (in case you fall and can't get up), etc. I can't remember what else was on there. It was hilarious.
He also got a poem written out with a bunch of candy bars on it. If you Google "retirement candy bar poem" you will see what I mean. It was really cute and he loved getting all of the candy! LOL
They make all sorts of inappropriate retirement greeting cards which I love. I can't give you any ideas if you want a "real" gift, though!
The cutest retirement gift I ever saw was a clock with all the numbers lying at the bottom of the clock and the saying "Who cares?" But, sorry, I have no idea where it was purchased - only that my sister gets a lot of gift catalogs.

we've done a few 'golden' items - for a carpenter or someone in facilities operations we painted a hammer gold & then mounted it on a plaque - you can put a couple of different quotes on it - a golden parachute - an escape door to 'travel' 'new adventures' (use a small lego or lincoln log door) - some smaller kids toys like for travelling a golden 'train' 'bus' or 'boat' it's not obnoxious - but cute funny
