Hummus...

I make my own, it's so simple I couldn't imagine buying it in a store. I usually snack on it with veggies, pita bread or tortilla chips but really anything that can be used to hold a dip will be fine for hummus.

I just had a chick pea salad. I make it often when I'm too lazy to put the chick peas in a food processor to make into hummus.

I add all the spices I regularly use. I use the chick pea juice as my dressing and add a drizzle of sesame oil and olive oil. Then add garlic powder, chili powder, ground cumin and cumin seeds, hot sauce, paprika and a splash of lemon juice. It makes a nice vegetable side dish when you aren't in the mood to dip. :yay:

It makes a surprisingly good pizza.

Take a flatbread or pizza crust, spread with hummus, and top with shredded monterrey jack cheese and veggies (peppers and broccoli work well). Broil until cheese melts. It's a great lunch.

People always say that, but I honestly can't see getting all the ingredients and getting the blender/food processor dirty when I can just pick up a tub for a couple of bucks at any grocery store and be done with it!

I'm a hummus slacker.

That sounds interesting. :thumbsup2 It would be a "beige" pizza, I guess, rather than a white pizza. I make my pizzas on whole wheat pitas. They make a nice crispy crust.

Spoken like a true hummus addict.

I'm waiting for the post where someone says they inject it right into their veins.

Hummus is my favorite. :thumbsup2 I also make my own garlic version which is quick and easy and delicious. I have some for a snack at work with pretzels, cauliflower, mushrooms, and/or radishes.

They also have a great hummus sandwich at Columbia Harbor House at WDW. Whole grain bread with hummus, tomato, and broccoli slaw. I started making it at home after I tried it.

I love this sandwich, Its a welcome change from burgers, chicken fingers etc

Ok, I really don't want to be known as a hummus enabler on this thread, but I just had to tell you all that when I went to Sam's Club yesterday, not only did they have my favorite huge tub of Sabra hummus, but now they have invididual serving size containers in a large box! Imagine the possibilities! Lunches, snacks, picnics, in the car, your own so no one double dips! I bought two whole big boxes, as my kids love it too! What a find.:cloud9:

Just wanted to give a recommendation for Sabra hummus. http://www.sabra.com/products/sabra-hummus.html I've recently become addicted. There are so many different varieties to choose from! My personal favorites are garlic and jalepeno. Delicious on pita chips and sandwiches!:thumbsup2

I have to second that, this brand is by far the best hummus. My favorite is the lemon and olive, but they are soooooooo good, yuuuuuum.

Another Sabra user here. It's also good with Triscuit Thin Crisps. :thumbsup2
