I was wondering if anyone has already attended a position (professional internship) in deployment (in the past). I am a law student with a desire to work in human resources and practice employment law upon graduating. I attended CP in my undergrad and also worked for Disney for about a total of 6 years since then, but quit to attend law school. I was wondering if the Deployment PI would be a great starting place to get my foot in the door with HR. Are you exposed to policies, laws, etc. within this position?

If anyone has any advice or info please feel free to let me know. Also does anyone know how the remainder of the interviewing process is for this position?

I really want my career to be with Disney and hoping to gain acceptance into the PI program. Working for Disney in the past has been an amazing experience and I hope to continue with Disney and be able to use my skills as an attorney.

I have completed the first phone interview and status on dashboard states in "Interview Stage"

I'm surprised that that internship is advertised as an HR position. How was it described to you? That department is primarily concerned with ensuring that the operating areas (theme parks, etc.) are properly staffed throughout the day. I suspect that you would learn about processes and policies specific to Disney, but that area is basically a call center.

I see. I was kind of afraid of that (call center). Thank you for the input. I guess I will just ask more in depth questions if I advance in the process. I did ask the woman interviewing what the atmosphere was etc. She said she did not know for sure.

Anyhow, thanks again for responding.

I am currently in this exact internship, actually. Just finished training! :) Send me a PM to talk more about this, and I'll respond with more details.

It's very complicated to explain. We probably would be considered more of a "call center" but we do more than just that. We are exposed to policies/laws/etc. however, not very much. You learn about it in training, and maybe see it every once in a loooong while. That's about it.

It is a good place to "get a foot in the door" with other positions in Disney. We work a lot with scheduling, and with managers all over the place so you'll have the opportunity to make lots of connections.

I don't know much about the other PIs available, but you may do better to look more for a scheduling PI if interested in laws and such. Good luck! And again, feel free to PM me, and I'll try to respond quickly.

hello and thanks for the response. It appears I havent posted enough to send private messages yet.... :confused3

But thanks for the information you did supply. I have many years disney experience already but worked mostly in entertainment and DRC so I am hoping that the Workforce management/deployment position would help me learn another area and be closer to my field of law. Would you mind telling me a little bit about the interview process?

Thanks again for all of the information.
