Human Finger found in chili at Wendy's

When I was in High School 3 of my friends worked at Wendy's, at that time the meat from the chili was the unused hamburger patties from the previous day. After a certain amount of time on the grill they would put them in a container in the fridge and they would become chili the next day.

Yes that is what I remember from high school also, friends that I knew worked there too.

If this is just a rumour I heard it on Good Morning America, they had better hire some better staffer to check out stories befor they report them.

They even showed the finger fingernail still attached and what looked like more human tissue ground up in the chili, it appeared more white than the hamburger meat.

Instead of grossing me out, that story made me laugh. Does that mean I'm immune to nastiness now? :confused3

I sincerely hope this is ome sort of hoax. But something tells me this could turn out to be VERY nasty. :earseek: :sad2:

*shudder*

What I wanna know is who loses the tip of their finger on the job and goes, "oh well..." Wouldn't you report it if you lost part of your finger?
:confused3
Definitely gross whether it's true or not.

The San Jose police showed the fingertip on the news - it has a fingerprint, so they're hoping to find the "owner".

Just one more reason for me to stick to my new eating habits and NOT eating at fast food places. At least if I cook at home and chop my fingertip off, I will throw out whatever I'm making!!!! :crazy2: (where's that little barfing smilie when you need him???)

To my knowledge all my friends still have all 10 fingers. ;)

That's how it was when I was younger (18) I had a 2nd job at a Wendy's so I was thinking how the heck??

OMG! I can't imagine the poor woman who found it... I'd be washing my mouth out endlessly with listerine. That is incredibly nasty. :faint:

My husband worked at Wendy's years ago, and told me that the chili meat is the hamburgers they didn't sell. I, too, am wondering how this could have happened.... perhaps it was in a tomato can? :confused3 Or maybe Wendy's has pre-made chili delivered to the stores now? Maybe someone on the DIS works there and can answer?

I saw that last nite on FOX...eeeeewwwwwwwwwwww!!! :scared:

Me too. I usually don't watch the news but I had that channel on from Idol and Trading Vacations. It almost made me throw up! I thought it was a local story, but maybe it was FOX just typically being sensationalistic.

Exactly! I was looking for that smiley too!

I stopped eating beef years ago after reading Fast Food Nation. So glad I did!

YOu know, someone had to have know they were missing that digit! I would like to believe that they at least looked really hard for it...

They dug through the rest of the chili with their bloody stump. No one is safe.
