I'm just wondering if the take off for Hulk is as breath sucking as RnR. I've heard it's similar.

can't wait for our first visit!!!!:cool1:

They are pretty similar - here are some numbers to put it into perspective:

Hulk goes from 0 to 40 mph in 2 seconds.
RnR goes from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds.

So you (slightly) feel more of the g-forces with RnR. The launches are so much fun. I won't give them away in case you want to be surprised. :)

Hope you have a great trip!

To factor in some things....

RnR launch: 0-60 from a dead stop in under 3 seconds. The launch is horizontal. There is plenty of "psych out" time as you wait for the screen & music to indicate that it's go time. There's even a 3-2-1 countdown, IIRC.

Hulk launch: <5-40 in 2 seconds. You're already traveling up a 45* incline and there are audio clues, but little "psych out" time. The launch is more of a "catch you off guard" kind.

I like the way you broke it down. I agree the Hulk is a bit more catch you off guard and for that I liked it better.

So if I can ride RNR, I can probably do Hulk? I am new to riding coasters and my boys love them so I have been riding them. And I actually have fun once I get over the initial shock.

I have the same question as reelmom. When we first started taking the kids to WDW I could ride RnR several times before feeling yuk. Now, at the advanced age of 47, I still enjoy the ride *once* per trip, but am happy enough when its over, if you know what i mean. How does the time length of the ride compare?
Thanks!

My problem with Hulk is that you can see the stupid thing. If pictures are worth a thousand words then Hulk is a good example of that. I tend to chicken out after I've seen those people going by a few times.

I just timed them on Youtube, from the start of the launch to when the train hits the set of brakes to slow down. RnRC was around a minute and Hulk was at a minute and 5 seconds.

Just make sure you SCREAM :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: from the launch, through the first inversion/drop, and keep screaming as much as you want. It'll make it less "scary"

:lmao:

although on RnR I CAN'T Scream! My voice has been sucked from my body!! Last year was the first year my step daughter rode RnR. She was VERY nervous but her best friend had done it, so of course she wanted to join the club! (she was 11 at the time!) As luck would have it we managed to get the very front of the "limo"!:scared1::cool1: My step daughter's eyes got HUGE and she looked at me with a bit of disbelief. I had to laugh and said "Go big or go home right?". She actually did great, and really loved it, EXCEPT for the launch. I had to agree. It feels like the breathe is being sucked right out of you!

I'm looking forward to Hulk though! Love that scared adrenaline feeling!!!:cool1:

thanks everyone for the input!!

Well the biggest difference is the numbers of loops. RNR only has three, HULK has many more loops.:cool2:

I've ridden both.
RNR has the better launch, suspense of countdown, and an incredibly better theme and decorations.
Hulk has the better coaster itself, with many large inversions.
Just because you rode RNR with the launch doesn't necessarily mean you'd be up for flipping around and falling (I think about) 100 feet down on Hulk.

Hulk! One of my faves ... sit in the last row and watch as the coaster goes through the turns in front of you! It is awesome!

I think RnRC's launch is more intense because it goes faster, but I love how the Hulk launches you into a barrel roll like 100 feet off the ground.

I love RnRC and also Incredicoaster @ DCA but I've been too scared to ride Hulk because of how imposing it looks (if it were enclosed I probably wouldn't be scared because I wouldn't see it in advance!). I'm fine with the inversions in RnRC - are the Hulk inversions scarier or is it just that there's more of them? Also, is the track really bumpy and will I bang my head a lot? I'm psyching myself up to ride Hulk in September but am still not 100% decided yet

Zooombieee threaddddd. But relevant questions.

Full disclosure, not actually ridden hulk, but I've ridden many other outdoor looping coasters that are pretty large.
They're probably "scarier" because you can see they're coming up rather than just being thrust into them blindly like RnR, but they do more or less feel the same. You know it's happening but it doesn't really *feel* like it's upside down. However, Hulk does have a Zero-G roll, which RnR does not. This inversion is supposed to feel like you're weightless. I don't usually feel uncomfortable with these, YMMV. The other inversions are fairly standard.
Reports say Hulk is smoother than RRR, but YMMV there as well. It depends on where you sit. If you keep your head back, that usually reduces head banging.

If you don't like drops, Hulk is much worse than RnRC.
This assumes speed and inversions are okay.

I hate bumpy tracks as they leave me with headaches for ages afterwards but I never had this issue with hulk. It was really smooth and a great ride.
