Hulk coaster's panned, fading paint job gets overcoat


Universal Orlando says it has begun repainting the Incredible Hulk, the once-bright-green roller coaster that dominates the skyline in the resort's Islands of Adventure theme park.

The move follows a months-long fan campaign to pressure the resort into refurbishing the popular thrill ride. There's a 66-page thread on the Orlando United theme-park website's message boards titled "The Condition of the Hulk Thread" on which fans have been bemoaning a lack of upkeep on the attraction.

Universal, which called the paint job a "long-planned refinishing project," says the work will be done at night, ensuring the ride remains open. The resorts say the painting will be finished in a few months.

Am I the only one who thinks SuessLand is in major need of a paint job, too? On the trolley ride, the narration points out the "red and white hat" but it's more like pink and white! I think the colors should be bright and cheery, but they're looking more faded and dull these days.

Great! They should keep updating...there are a lot of rides/attractions that need some repainting! I agree with HLAuburn!

Call it a hunch, but a lot of improvements will be coming to the parks over the next year or two.

awesome, the rusty spots always made me feel a little sad when i'd look at those spots especially at the end when you begin your slow down.hulk is one of my all time favroite coasters.can't wait to finnaly see it in top condition again.looks like this time it's gonna make it!!!warning,warning!!!

Some areas in Seuss definitely need it next. The entire Cat in the Hat ride is in horrible condition both outside and in. One Fish Two Fish is pretty bad too.
