OK, I'm chatting with someone who is telling me of something that happened with the Hulk (or on the Hulk).

Supposedly something JUST happened and so there's very little information about it currently...

first he said it derailed, then he said that it didn't derail but someone died on it...

this guy is making me stress out! I hope things are OK...whatever is going on if anything. :(

I seriously hope you are right damo!! :(

He said that his local news just said that it JUST happened and they are now sending out news crews to Universal to get more information...

I checked orlandosentinel.com and there was nothing there.

ok, he said it didn't derail but someone died on it...

that doesn't make me feel any better. :( Hope it wasn't a heart attack or something!!!

The local Orlando news reported that a woman rider was unconscious when the train she was in returned to the station. She is currently being treated in a hospital. She is not dead.

Ohhhh......send shivers down your spine! When I started reading this....thought B***** H***! Sounds like she couldn't take it... maybe became really sick during the ride, choked something like that and passed out! You can die on just a teaspoon of vomit if you become unconscious.....just speculating.

of course it said she had some "jaw pain" which my mom thought she read was a possible sign for a heart attack or stroke or something. :( That would be terrible - she is only 37!! My dad has a friend that had a stroke in his 20s I think and is half-paralyzed for the rest of his life.

But, at least they could get her right to the hospital to treat her for whatever the cause.

Woman Found Unconscious On Hulk Roller Coaster

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Martin County woman was found unconscious in her seat after riding the Incredible Hulk Coaster at Universal Orlando Tuesday.
The Jensen Beach woman was taken to a nearby hospital, said Tom Schroder, a spokesman for Universal Orlando. Her condition wasn't known. Park officials said the woman was 35, but a fire official said she was 37.

The ride, which drops passengers into seven loops from as high as 100 feet up, was shut down to be inspected and won't reopen until Wednesday. The ride, which opened in 1999, lasts two minutes and 15 seconds and reaches a high speed of 65 miles per hour.

"The ride came to a stop and the others disembarked but she remained in the ride. She had no pulse," said Deputy Chief Kathy Miller of the Orlando Fire Department.

The woman's companions said she had complained about jaw pain earlier in the day, Miller said.

"Some times cardiac pain can radiate to the jaw," Miller said.

Bob Gault, president and chief operating officer at Universal Orlando, said there was no evidence of ride malfunction and that Universal officials were cooperating with authorities.

"It's some kind of guest illness," Gault said. "Our thoughts go out to the guest and the guest's family."

The woman was at the theme park with co-workers for a company outing, Universal officials said.

--------------------------------UPDATE-----------------------------
Local news has just reported she suffered a heart attack between the time the ride stops at the final brake and rolls into the station. She had no vital signs when removed from the ride. She did have vital signs at the hospital. The ride may reopen tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the update Dznefreek. I certainly hope she's all right. :( That's really young for a heart attack...

OMG!!!! Poor lady. It's weird though. I did not hear about it until I read here. There was nothing on our news station.

I hope she is okay.

There was a report on our news station - she's from my town.

The reporter stated she is currently on a respirator and in critical condition. She is 35 years old, and her husband is with her in the hospital in Orlando.

There was also a cardiologist interviewed as a follow up to the story. He said most people only associate chest pain with heart attacks, but jaw, elbow and hand pain can also be signs of heart distress.

Universal spokesmen said the attraction will reopen on Wednesday.

I'll post if there's any further local info tomorrow.

OMG ~ Hope this woman is ok and makes a complete recovery.

First of all my prayers and thoughts to these people.....Secondly I got a lump in my throat when I read this, is everyone sure it was yesterday? The only reason I ask is that when we were there last week, HULK was closed the entire day on 9/17 and no one would say why.

The news articles state that it happened yesterday. Hulk is often down for a day with maintenance issues and there aren't a lot of specifics given.

They aired the story in Orlando at 5:20 yesterday. They said that a news conference was starting soon and they would give more information after that. Here is the latest article that I can find. News Article The Hulk was closed yesterday after the incident and then it is suppose to re-open today.

Local 6 just reported that the ride is still closed. They also stated that the woman was still conscious when the on-ride photo camera took her picture.

Here's hoping she'll be OK.
Wonder how many heart specialists will wind up getting to review that ride-photo.
