HUGE McDonald's near Disney--have you been?

There was a show on last night about unusual McDonald's around the world. I was half listening as I cleaned up the living room. One particular restaurant they showed was in Orlando. It had a really awesome play area and video games on the second floor.

Has anyone been to it? It's apparently HUGE. If it's near Disney, I'd like to add it to our plans.

We spent the night in Orlando last year just before our cruise and we went to that McDonalds. My kids LOVED it. I liked the menu choices. DH had a meatball sub and I had pasta. It was really nice to be able to take the kids to McDonalds but not have to eat burgers and fries. :rotfl:

DH liked the massage chairs upstairs where the kids play yard is located. :lmao:

We went to that McDonald's a few trips back when the kids were really small. It is very large with a huge play structure for the kids and lots of video games for the older ones. The menu is not your basic McDonald's, although you can get that if you want it. If you go up I-4 from Disney, you can see it on the right hand side - looks like a huge box of fries.

We went once, and we now refer to it as the McDonald's from H*ll. It is huge, chaotic, loud and we found it to be dirty.

We went on our first trip and made sure we were there early in the morning. Once it started getting busy we left. For us it was a way to kill some time before my sister arrived at MCO. It was nice but confusing at first. If you go, go early.

We were there in the morning, not too busy really. I was not impressed at all. It's big, has lots of food choices (we didn't eat, when we saw you couldn't take food upstairs where the play area was we just took the boys up to play and left when it was time to go), I didn't find the play area to be all that great. Mostly it had video games, which we don't waste $$$ on. We have a playland not too far from us that is much bigger and more fun that that one seemed to be. DS3 loved seeing the baby alligator a guy had at the bottom of the steps when we were leaving though, made it worth the stop!:goodvibes

I would not make a special trip to see it.

As far as the other food choices, several Mcdonalds in the Orlando area offer them. They are called Mcdonalds Bistro. There is one near Universal and one near Bass outdoor world.

We make sure we go every trip to DW. It is great. The kids love it, we eat right at the bottom of the stairs to the upstairs play area. The kids can come and go as they want to since we are right at the bottom, we are not concerned about wandering off. If you have time, it is definitely worth the stop but make sure you allow enough time to play.

I've been. Never again. It was loud. The food took a while. And when I had to complain that my chicken tasted like fish, the managers response was "what do you want me to do about it?" Um, I want a new sandwich. No apology or anything. He just explained that it wasn't possible since the fish is cooked in a different section. (I hate fish and thought that maybe my chicken was cooked where the fish was, giving it a fish taste). My new sandwich tasted fine.

There is a very big McDonalds with an enormous play area at the corner of International Drive and Sand Lake Road. It is about a 20 minute drive from WDW property. I've only been there a couple of times. The first time we were there, my daughter was four years old. I hated it. The play area was so large that I lost track of her. I literally had to wait until she decided to come out. It was very crowded and very loud.
