We have the Poly booked, but I am having troubles in my mind how much more it is cosing us. We will have a 1 and 4 yr old. Only there 2 days, and the one park day is the MK. We will have one full day at the pool. (would love zero entry ) I looked at WL and AKL, and they are not to much less than the Poly. Should i change our reservation?

NO don't change you will LOVE the Poly!! The monorail access is totally worth it with the little ones, and the zero entry pool was awesome, my ds loved it!!!!
well worth the money in my opinion.

oh and you can also zip right across the lagoon in the boat if you don't want to do the monorail. on the trip over to MK, it goes straight there from Poly on the trip home it stops at GF first, but totally fun and pleasant way to get to MK!

There is a MAJOR difference between Poly and POR - POLY is WAY better. Do not switch, you will be sorely dissappointed. I have stayed at both resorts (Poly many times and POR once in OCT). I willl never stay at POR again, but would stay at Poly every trip if DH the kids would let me.

Stick to the Poly, especially for such a short stay. Getting to the MK will be a breeze.

Agreed! Considering you can take the boat launch or the monorail to the MK, the ease of doing so without having to resort to buses is worth the cost difference. And I'm assuming since you have a 1 year old that you'll have a stroller. It is MUCH easier to use the stroller with the monorail instead of the buses. :thumbsup2

For 2 days, stick with the Poly. You can be to the park and back in no time flat. Just the "time" you will save in transportation justifies the Poly for such a short trip. And you have 3 dining options right there at your resort. Two pools. You can watch MK fireworks from the resort instead of fighting the crowds in the park. And you can watch in your (nice) pajamas then have the kids in bed quick, quick. Want a change of pace?...jump on the monorail and go to one of the other monorail resorts for a quick natter 'round. POR is fine for longer stay, but for 2 quick days go with the best.

Poly, No Question. It is a long bus ride from POR to the MK. It makes alot of stops. There are multiple stations within the POR itself. One night it took us an hour and 15 minutes to get to the MK from POR.

I understand your feeling about the expense of the poly. We love to stay there but for our upcoming trip in May we moved to AKL. The poly is wonderful and the monorail is a great convenience. We just did not feel like we should pay $400. a night for it. We usually make our trips in September so we have a great discount. Since no discount has been released (yet) to the general public it was hard to pay that amount when I am used to paying around $310. for it. If I could pick anywhere in Disney to stay, it would be there. You will love it especially with little kids. (mine are 3 and 4) I am excited about staying at AKL. My kids will love the animals. I know I will miss the monorail, but I am saving over $550 by just switching resorts. That is $500 more dollars to go towards us going to the beach the summer. I guess that is my positive spin on having to move. Be ready to be spoiled if you stay there!!!

We just got back last night from staying 3 nights at the Beach Club and 4 nights at Port Orleans Riverside. The old saying that goes "you get what you pay for" proved true this time- I will NEVER stay at Port Orleans again- I hated it. Especially as we are DVC members and always stay at the Deluxe level- The room was old and filthy (mansion section- Acadian building) and I had to call house keeping at 12:00 midnight for them to bring me a clean bed spread (when I pulled down the spread to go to bed, there was hard orange gunk stuck in several places (looked like chewed up cheeze doodles) I was so totally disgusted- the room was VERY run down- I was very surprised as the reviews seem so great at this resort- MAYBE we are spoiled now that we have this DVC- the whole atmosphere is just DIFFERENT than at the Deluxe level- We learned our lesson
