Hubby has lost it!!!

We leave for Disney in 17 days, and my DH is driving me nuts!!!! We are going on a Grand Gathering of 9 of us, and we have paid for the trip in full already. We also got the Free Dining, and we have a Fireworks Cruise that is already paid for. I have $3000.00 put away for spending money for our family (there are 5 of us.) Everyone else will be bringing their own spending money. He thinks we won't have enough spending money.....I think he is crazy!!

Wow... not sure what kind of souvenirs he's planning on picking up, but $3000. sounds like more than enough!! Either that or he is a big tipper! Have a great time!............P

I wish we had $3,000 for spending $$$. We'll be lucky if we can bring $500 spending money for the two of us.

I would think that would be way too much spending money. Especially since you have free dining. I would go with 1000.00, and even then I know I would come back with money.

When I told DH what I have budgeted for spending money he didn't think it was enough either. Once I explained that all the food was included in our package he realized that is was more than enough. He doesn't stess our vacation until the last minute. So I made sure to tell him all the details early. However i'm sure he will forget and I will have to show him again!

Well, unless he's wandering into a few of the shops in Epcot, like the fine art place and the place where you get your head 3-d lasered into a block of crystal, that's a HUGE amount of spending money.

Usually we bring about 300 for 5 days for the 4 of us, but since we go fairly often we don't buy 'stuff', just food.

but as long as you're not going into debt or raiding your kid's college fund or your iras, then hey, why not? Diff'rent strokes for different folks...

$3000.00 is almost another trip. Forget the sovvies and plan another trip!!!! The first year we went we spend a lot more than we do now that we go yearly, but seriously that should be plenty for 5 people! And you should have left overs for your next vacation as well.

You really have to tell us what he thinks he is going to spend that amount of money on. Especially with free dining. Did he forget about the free dining.

Heck, I am budgetting $3000 for my entire trip. (We are staying offsite and don't buy much in the way of souveneirs.)

AWWW! I just dream about taking that kind of spending money with me!! This time I am taking about 400.00 in spending money and that doesn't include my Disney visa rewards. Ok it's only about 60.00 and that's for DD 4 and 1/2. I plan to come back with atleast half of that!! I would find out what he's planning on buying down there and them come back and post. I'm sure someone on here can give you an average price of an item.

I think you got plenty of cash. Oh and we are only spending 1900.00 total for our trip and that includes room, tickets, free dining, gas (we're driving) and spending money!! We're only going for 5 nights and 6 days!

I am going down right after you. I am planning on around 200 spending money for me and my husband. I think you are all set (well beyond it actually) with the $3000. I WISH!!!

I do think that 3000 is a little too much. When we go on vacation, I try to budget 250 per day.

We are not rich or anything and I do admit that 250 per day is alot of money too, but I want to be able to buy whatever I want when we go somewhere. If I see a statue or really cool jacket or something, I want to be able to buy it and not regret not buying it when I get home. To me, money saved for a vacation isn't real money until I get back home with what is left.

My DH however is not like that. When we go, we split the money that way I can spend my 1/2 the way I want and he can do the same. This last time, we were there for 7 days and we took about 1800. We split the money and I went through most of mine, he spent about 1/2 of his.

But then again, we don't live in Florida so we only have a trip maybe every 3-4 years. So when I vacation, I don't want anything holding me back.

I guess I am a shopaholic.
