I come home yesterday to find DD5 watching HSM2. Apparently there was a preview on some Disney channel?!? :confused3 I don't recall exactly what the bottom read, but it was some special premium preview type of thing.

ANYWAY ...

DH uses a Mac and downloads movies all the time, which he then streams to our AppleTV. DD watched HSM2 twice yesterday and cried so hard because Troy and Gabriella break up. She's only 5 and couldn't understand it's just a story ... they do get back together but she's really stressed about the partial break-up/

WOW! Being 5 is tough!

Wow. I can't believe a five year old would even care. :scared1:

Are you kidding? My 5 year old is actually going to HSM 2 party at a friend's house with 10 other screaming little girls! :cutie:
My DD is 5 too and we are having a HSM 2 party at my house!! My DD is in love with Troy and says that is HER boyfriend...so she might be happy about the breakup!! LOL

LOL My girls (5 1/2 and 4 1/2) CAN'T wait and were both invited to a HSM2 party..they couldn't go though, cause we'll be in DISNEY..lol

DD4 cannot wait. she loved HSM1, not sure how much she understood, but loved the dancing/singing, and that people were "in love" we are actually going to be traveling Friday so i told her it is on monday and am taping it. thank goodness she can't read a calendar yet:lmao:

My DD 5 will be thrilled! She thinks Troy should really be going out with Sharpay because she's her favorite character! My DD is a bit of a drama queen, much like Sharpay Evans. Yep, I'm in trouble in a few years! :rotfl:

I hear ya! My DD4 is probably a lot like your daughter. (Boy, we are in trouble, aren't we!) We knew HSM2 was coming up and hadn't seen HSM, so we tivo'd it a few weeks ago. Well, we watch it all the time, act it out, dance, sing, etc. We even bought the soundtrack for the car. My daughter sings almost all the words to all the songs and is SO excited for it to come out tonight. Her Dad and I are sleeping downstairs with her tonight for our "High School Musical slumber party". We go to WDW next week and she can't wait to see the Pep Rally at MGM!!! Have fun tonight watching it with your daughter! :rolleyes1

My 1 year old son was bopping along to HSM concer on Family Channel ( here in Canada) tonight before the movie priemered. He wasnt even watching it just bobbing along to the beat of the music. Its on right now in the living room, he's asleep and Im on the pc. LOL

OK, back from our party. LOL. DH and MIL said it was draggy, I pointed out they were not thte intended audience. Me either.;) Anybody else have to shuttle kids to multiple parties. What a hoot. :)

My DD7 was sobbing when Troy and Gabrielle had their break-up song. At the end they all said they liked it, even my boys. DS9 said it was better than the first, but "that's only because he saw the other one (not by choice) a million times and he started hating it". Personally, I thought the songs were better in the original, but there were some parts I really liked in this one.

My 6yo LOVES Sharpay too!! Its's Sharpay's clothes that really rock my DD. And of course her comments tonight while we watched were about Sharpay's cool clothes, her cool pink car, her pink golf cart etc... DD is a pink girl.

We had our own HSM2 party and we all enjoyed it a bunch. Loved all the new songs and dances. At commercial time the kids would get up and try out the new dance moves. :) What great Disney fun! :)

all 3 of mine were glued, even my DD2. the girls were dancing around and my son loved all the sports songs. great family movie. my daughter also noticed how all the girls were never showing their bellies at the pool and how their clothes were all appropriate. she said can i wear clothes like that when i get big (we are big anti brats at our house and their dress is a major reason) so i loved that. it showed teens in cute stylish clothing that actually covered their bodies (who knew it existed?)

I too am anti bratz but DD keeps trying to push it ...

She also loves Sharpay and keeps singing "Fabulous". And now she wants a dog like Sharpay has.

My favorite song is the "I Don't Dance" from the baseball field.

We liked it and had a fun family night. My 2 year old did not know what was going on, but now asks "Why is Sharpay mean?" I think I liked the first one better, but I think it is hard to tell with commercial breaks.

My DD 5 also loved the pink golf cart!

My DH and I didn't think Chad needed to call Monique Coleman's character a "hottie," (couldn't they have said, "cutie?") but other than that I thought all was okay.

6 year old cried and boo-hoo'd to the point where i had to pause it and tell her if she didn't stop, I was going to erase it from the dvd. I mean a little tears is one thing, but she was bawling!!???! Almost as bad as during Narnia.

Did anyone else feel like they were watching a G rated version of Dirty Dancing at the end??

Yes - the entire movie actually:) We were joking that HSM was Grease for tweens and HSM2 was Dirty Dancing for tweens. Not that there is anything wrong with that because my dd's loved them both.

My thoughts exactly! I had to laugh at the big build up to Troy and Gabriella's kiss. My boys were wincing everytime they got close and had to avert their eyes when it actually happened! :lmao:
