.... don't touch them with a barge pole they are use less. I have had to make a claim because DH found a crack in the bath Our bath is peach and the only ones you can get now are white so they are saying unless we want an odd suite and odd tiles we have to pay for it our selves the only thing they pay for is the bath. We are having to pay £75 excess any way so how much are the insurance paying... not a lot:mad: other companies pay for matching items if they can't match the thing thats broken.

I would not be happy with that. My mum got soot all over her carpet a few years ago, the insurance company accused her of lying and refused to pay out!:scared1: She hadn't made a claim in about 20 years and was so insulted as she is such an honest person. It makes me so mad when insurance companies treat customers like that. Perhaps you should point out that the tiles will inevitably be damaged when the old bath is removed, so this will mean the bathroom will have to be re-tiled!

I pointed this out to them and there reply was we will replace only the damaged tiles. I have just had an emergency plumber out and he told me to argue with them tell them the bathroom was matching while i have been paying the premiums so i want it matching now. Did your mom get any money in the end? Its not like we claim all the time the only thing we have claimed for in the 10 years we have been in this house is the garage door when DD put her car in the garage without opening the door first

My mum never got paid for the carpet.:sad2: It has made me less inclined to be honest though. She lost a diamond from her engagement ring last year - she claimed on the insurance and they paid for a new diamond and for it to be re-set. A few days later she found the diamond by the fire place. She asked me whether she should tell the insurance company. I said no!!! She had her original diamond reset and had a fair few pounds left over. Some you win...

I would definitely argue with your insurance company. Could you ask for an assessor to come out and see for themselves that it is a coordinated suite and tile design? It seems like they are trying it on so it might be worth a few phonecalls/letters. I wouldn't give up just yet.;)

I have got an accessor coming round monday, i will definately force the issue with them

Would it be worth having your plumber there to offer his expert opinion? I assume you had the bathroom done some time ago, in which case it would be nigh on impossible to match the original tiles. It would look awful to have a peach loo and basin, then a white bath, peach tiles around the bathroom and white tiles around the bath - ask him how he would like it if it was his bathroom!! I really hope you get somewhere.
