HS with all the major rides as Tier 1

EEMH has probably helped at the margins, but ultimately, it’s just math. There’s gonna be ~70,000 T1 FPs in a 12 hour day, and ~31,000 guests. Also, since people can only book another T1FP after they’ve used their first, only a little over 5,000 people an hour are burning through that first T1 FP. Combine all that with people coming late, leaving early, and having late night SDD FPs as their prebook, and finding a T1 has been a breeze.

This will of course not be true come the holidays when there’s 60,000 people and 70,000 T1 FPs. But on most days it’s great.

I like your logic/data/math. And since your profile even says you are a reformed mathlete, I'm going to trust you on this one. :yay: (That's my emoji mathlete. Can you tell?)

We are pretty savvy with the TGM plan so I'm hoping we'll be good. Right now we have SDD at 11:30. I have a TP up to that point. After we tap in at 11:25 we will go where the FastPass Fairy takes us. At least, until some celebrity that is filming the holiday special closes down some ride because the background noise is drowning out their lines.

Either way, I get to hang with DD15 at Disney that day. Mickey does such an amazing job of vanquishing teenage angst and eye rolls. It will be fabulous no matter what. Oh, and I get a shake at Sci Fi. So, there's that!

FP at DHS is WDW’s version of DL’s MaxPass. I often wonder if it’s a ‘test’ of the availability of Tier 1s even with the pre-booking of FPs.

We use MaxPass at DLR and not only ride everything we ‘need’ to ride by using a FP, we can stack Tier 1 level rides and end the day with 4 or more stacked FPs for that last hour or so of the day.
I disagree completely. I was at DLR last December and I think Maxpass is far superior to anything at WDW. I don't see the comparison at all.

They are saying that since this is working a bit more like Maxpass, they wonder if this is a test to see if it works better at WDW, and I see the similarities too, I went with Maxpass last May and it worked quite like this new tier system is shaking out for FP availability at HS....they said nothing about either being superior to another.....

Still don't see the similarity. We maxpassed what we wanted when we wanted/could. No tiers.

I think the point was after using the initial 3 that is how it operates at DHS. You can book whatever you want once the 3 are used.

right....they are saying that since the availability of rides is greater now, letting people ride the big rides more, then it is like maxpass when you walk in the gates there are options for you. Not that there are any tiers, but I can definitely see how maxpass ride availability is similar to the availability now, since only a certain amount of tier 1 rides are booked in advance. When I went to DLR, the first few hours were back to back FPs, riding everything we wanted with standby and FP. I was able to get almost back to back for most of the day, or within an hour or so of when I was looking. The only time I was out of luck was when it was late in the day and most rides were walk on anyway. I can't imagine that yours was a worse experience.
