HS Solo Plan?

I will have one weekday to myself at HS in late January while my partner and new disney baby sleep in and enjoy some resort time. Next week, I have to schedule my FP. I think I have a decent plan, but wanted to run it past you fine folks to see if you have any thoughts to improve it.

My priorities are Rise of the Resistance, Smugglers Run, Midway Mania, Slinky Dog, and Tower of Terror. I am assuming still no FP for the star wars rides in January. So with that in mind, I think the best plan is to rope drop RotR, single rider Smugglers Run, use the first FP on Slinky Dog, get two throwaway FPs, then get another FP for ToT or TSMM. Then hope for another decent FP. I can always wait in the general line for TSMM and ToT if no FP are available and I am assuming Slinky Dog is the better use of a FP. If Slinky Dog isn't available on FP, I am not sure it really matters if I get TSMM or ToT because I assume I will be able to get a FP for the other one after I burn my second tier FPs. I would probably got with TSMM if only because its closer to the star wars rides I am hoping to go one first.

Any thoughts or suggested changes considering my priorities? Thanks

Great plan!

I’d book a throwaway first thing while you’re rope dropping SWGE so that you can book your 4th sooner. If you’re worried about them not expiring and counting as used, I’d just book Muppets or Star Tours and run out and scan it, since you’re alone and can move quickly.

Also I know you didn’t mention it but don’t be fooled by the RNRC single rider line if you do want to ride it. It’s slow. You’re better off in the FP line if you can grab one.

It varies. I have done RnRC single rider line multiple times. Most of the time its under 10 minutes. Sometimes longer. We were there in October, walked right in, didn't wait for the video, they had the door open. They had nobody in single rider, got on the next car. Standby was 40 minutes.

I don’t know if you were lucky or I’m just super unlucky lol.

I don’t know the last time I saw it where it wasn’t extending waaaay far back and barely moving.

If we were just lucky, I'll take it. It was myself, our son and his wife. All went through single rider, and were on the next 2 cars.
Another trip in May, the CM was filling the next to last car just from single rider which I though was strange.

Don't plan on getting SDD early enough to be able to get other tier 1's after you use it, unless your trip is 10 days or longer and this day is at the back end of your trip.

This. I definitely agree that SDD is your priority FP - but unless this day is farther out than day 3 or 4 - you aren't going to get that early enough in the day to be able to get another tier 1 FP that day.

Given that horrible fact about SDD FP availability - I might consider the first tier 1 FP'ing TSM or ToT instead - with no plans to ride SDD unless you opt for standby at close - but that will be a LONG day given the early morning start for RotR. Or - if you can't get the SDD early in the day - as a solo you do have a slim chance of picking one up the day before or day of, too.

Yeah, that's already my plan (which I neglected to mention in my original post). If I can't get the Slinky Dog FP or cannot get it early in the day, then I will FP one of the other two rides and do the regular line at some point for the coaster. If that scenario happens, I am assuming it will still be better to rope drop RotR and wait in the slinky dog line. But who knows. If the RotR line is set up to move fast, then I will RD the dog and then go to RotR

Dont forget to keep refreshing the app on the day of to see if you can move SDD up, especially if you only need one.

I too was unlucky with RNRC single rider. The line attendant was barely pulling from the single rider. He kept polling the regular line looking for odd group numbers and was pulling people up from way far back in the regular line to fill in, which took longer than just filling in as people cycled through then populating with the single riders to fill in the extra space. Super annoying!

The only thing with going single rider on Smuggler's Run is that you miss the preshow with the incredible Hondo animatronic.
