HS Great Movie Ride.

They have such a huge library of movies they can update it every few years and it wouldn't take much. It will keep it new and fresh I think if they rotated out movies.

Exactly. That's what I meant by them just changing it to all Disney IP. IF they wanted to keep the current idea of the ride intact, but move away from TCM and these particular classics, they would probably just change it to a rotation of popular (or what they desire to be more popular) movies from their library. It would likely pull in the fans that want to see that, at the risk of alienating the fans that love the classics that are there now. Neither emotion is wrong, in my opinion.

What we really don't know, however, is whether Disney has any interest in keeping the idea of the ride like it is now. They may want this space for something different entirely. It will be interesting to see.

I like it - just be sure to add The Black Hole!

There are so many, could even add Star Wars now that Disney owns it, things like Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, and then maybe pepper in some lesser known movies that will go way back. Things like Popeye, tron, Return to Oz, Flight of the Navigator. They still have the spaceship..

I'm thinking that so many of those (like the bus/trolley from Roger Rabbit) were in pretty bad shape from sitting out in the elements. Disney Co. these days is not known for being overly sentimental with their physical iconic items.

I'm pretty sure it was just styrafoam so I'm sure that has been destroyed, but I'm sure some of the others they would have hopefully work.

I love the concept of the ride as it is, I would just like to see an update (incorporate some of the more significant movies from the past 10-20 years), and change the live action aspect to something new.

I like the ride too, but I think they are going to lose some of the licensing with losing TCN contract. And believe me Disney knows about licensing.
