HS - Epcot - HS again?

Hi everyone.

Would it be unmanageable to go from HS first thing in the morning to ride TSMM a few times and maybe Star Tours, meet Buzz and Woody, stay until 11:30/12, then go to Epcot for the afternoon/ dinner, and return to HS for the evening to see Fantasmic/ fireworks (and maybe squeeze in one more ride on TSMM)? Originally I had been planning Epcot until about 3 or so and then HS but then I got an early morning ADR for the Bon Voyage meal which means that I'm now thinking of pushing our lunch ADR (Chefs de France) to dinner....

We've never hopped and I have no idea how long it would take to do that. It is just myself and my DD9: we are both used to lots of walking. This would be during the last week of August and crowds are supposed to be fairly low according to crowd calendars.

Thanks!

What time is your dinner? I don't know if you'd have time to get back to HS for the fireworks. Also, being willing to walk back and forth will save you some time, so that's good, but it will be extremely, extremely hot. I would never plan to be out and about all day long - in July, we always spend our afternoons by the pool.

Currently it's lunch at noon. But I'm considering pushing it to 5 or so.

Express Bus! You'd need to check the timing of the bus with your adrs etc, but skipping security checks and such makes all the difference!

That's a very good idea. I was thinking how close the parks were and thinking it wouldn't make a difference but I had forgotten about security.

For some reason, MK security doesn't bother me, but Epcot made me *twitch* last time. We haven't decided if we're doing hoppers on our short trip, but if we do, it'll definitely be with the Express Bus. It totally changed how we toured in February.

Its an easy, relaxing 20 minute stroll between the parks. I like to grab a drink at the pool bar at the Boardwalk otw. You could also get some Ample Hills ice cream. Its totally do-able but the express service makes it even easier! Also, IG security is way easier than the front of the park IMHO. Have a great time hopping. I've never not had hoppers and I say the only thing that will my frequent random getaways to WDW is if they ever discontinue it. Have a blast!

I'll be doing it in a few days! I can report back for anyone curious. I'll be doing HS in the morning for Rope Drop, GF for Tea at 2, Epcot for a dinner and HS for Star Wars show. Should be fun! We're planning on taking the boat or walking.

Yes, please report back!

I was thinking that if I push the lunch to an early dinner, we could eat ice cream for lunch ;)

There's also the Friendship Boats which run about every 10 minutes between the International Gateway and the DHS main entrance. Dock to dock, about 25 minutes. Not sure where the Express Buses queue up, but if you're going between WS and DHS, the boat might come in handy.

Exactly what I was going to say! The walk or boat ride between the 2 parks is a very nice break during the day!

Yes!! I'm taking these when I plan to do this. Great way to view some of the Epcot area resorts!

I love the walk and we've actually done it like you're planning to a few times! It's very doable, but it will be hot for sure. The boat ride is also nice and leisurely.

Do the boats have cover for shade or are they completely open?

We will be doing this in August: booked an early breakfast at H&V with the Pixar/Fantasmic Dining package combo.......we will probably hit a couple of rides if we can get to them before the lines do, but our fastpasses will be for Soarin' and other EPCOT attractions. We will be staying at Boardwalk, so if it is super hot we may take a break at "home" before heading back for the Pixar show, dinner, and Fantasmic!

We've done this in August before. It's an easy boat ride between the two parks which allows us to rest a little. We've also stopped at the Beach Club or Boardwalk before for a snack or drink in the AC. You'll enter Epcot through the International Gateway entrance which isn't nearly as crowded as the front. We just did this again during Spring Break in April. We fastpassed Soarin and two other rides in the morning. Then we hit a couple F&G booths and made our way to the boat to HS. We rode TSMM as our 4th fastpass and saw Olaf. Then we headed back to Epcot for FEA as our 5th fastpass and hit a few more booths. We very rarely visit HS without hopping over to Epcot.
