HS - Contemporary - Mk?

First time to WDW in over 20 years. How easy time wise would it be to go from HS to the Contempoary (ADR at The Wave) and then to MK for EMH? Will we spend more time commuting than it is worth?

Not sure what you mean. You will be commuting, but I think you have to in order to get to your ADR. Then you could walk over to MK from Contemporary. It won't take long, about 8 mins or so and is a nice walk. You could take a monorail, but that will take you longer - probably 15 - 20 mins or so to work your way around again. If you wish to take advantage of MK EMH then it is worth it. If you are worried it will take too long to get to MK then that is your call. For me since you are right there I would say depending on what time you are done dinner it would be worth the walk.

Or get on the monorail and take the loop around to Magic Kingdom; it goes all the way around from the Contemporary, to the Poly, to TTC, GF, and then MK. Nice after a meal!

HS to Contemporary: About fifteen minutes, plus any wait time for the bus.
Contemporary to MK: About eight-ten minute stroll, or longer via monorail (the Resorts monorail will stop to unload and load Guests at the TTC, then the Polynesian, then the Grand Floridian - each stop takes several minutes, plus travel time).

0-20 mins wait time
10 mins loading time
15 mins drive time
5 mins to walk from bus stops to the Wave
Total: 30-50 mins

Contemporary to MK:
10 mins by walking
-OR-
30-45 mins by monorail (0-15 mins wait time, then multiple stops with load times at TTC, Poly, GF, then MK)

I would suggest getting on the bus from Hollywood Studios for the Contemporary/Polynesian/Grand Floridian, with the Contemporary being the 1st stop among those resorts. After your ADR is finished at The Wave then you can use the walkway to the Magic Kingdom, which takes about 10 minutes of walking time.
