This is a video on youtube showing a test run on the new Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. It was tested while the park was open, giving people a chance to see the climb for the first time.
Personally I hope it goes up a lot quicker than it does in the video - if only so the queues go down quicker and I can get on it and ride it myself.

Nice! But I hope the climb won't take that long in reality. I'm assuming they are still working on all of that, doing it slowly, then building up. But looking good! :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing. I guess I may be in the minority with my opinion here, but I am not really excited by this ride, it looks so slow and the layout is nothing special that I have not ridden something similar before. I love rollercoasters and I definately will ride this one and enjoy it, but it doesn't seem that special really. I guess by looking at that clip I have ridden much better rides in the past and this doesn't seem to be all that great a ride really. Maybe I will have a different opinion when I have been on it.

I think the things that appeal to me are the non inversion loops, the way it twists and turns through the Universal Studios scenery and the sheer length of it.
Having ridden the Hulk (too many loops for me) and Duelling Dragons I am definately looking forward to something new.

Wow, it looks fantastic. Can't wait to ride it in October.

Surely its not really going to go that slow at the beginning? Hmmm it looks ok - not as good as Manta looks though :goodvibes

By all accounts the slow versions that are online show it in testing mode - I believe it will be between 10-20 seconds for it to get to the top when fully operational.

I am not a coaster fan at all so obviously I'm not the target market here but I just don't see any great imagination in any of these types of rides, I know this is at Universal but I would hate to think that Disney will go down this road in the end. I kind of resent the fact that the millions of dollars of research these days seem to go on working out how to make something go faster and higher and produce more G force rather than trying to simulate life and dazzle us with the show like they used to. I know I'm an old grump, but will we ever see a dark ride project like POTC happen again without it involving negative, backward super slammin' cork screw vertical take off:hippie:
