How long does it take to drive from HRH to WDW? Our trip is planned for 10/20 - 10/28 and we plan to do IoA (1 day), SW (1 day) and WDW the rest of the time (have annual passes.) We were looking at hotels on site at WDW, but after hearing all the great things about HRH we might just stay there (we have already stayed at several onsite WDW hotels.)

Please help with our decision.

Thanks!

It takes about 20 minutes to drive from HRH to WDW. I'm not sure I would want to go back and forth every day. Kind of a hassle.

Have you thought about splitting your stay? We stayed four nights at WDW (Beach Club) and three nights at HRH. If you do split your stay, I would recommend doing Disney first and then Universal. As I'm sure you know, if you stay on site at Universal you can use your room key to go into the Express Line. IMHO, once you have this perk, you will be spoiled and won't want to stand in line at WDW. If you start with WDW, you have this perk to look forward to.

Just my 2 cents.

I totally agree with Antmaril. We stayed 3 nights at HRH and 6 nights at Boardwalk. The FOTL deal at Universal is awesome! We never waited for anything---we walked right on the rides and went right into restaurants---all eight of us.

Then we went to Magic Kingdon and MGM and waited and waited and waited. We tried to prepare ourselves because we knew Disney would be crowded. But, our HRH experience was so wonderful, it made our Disney stay a little discouraging.

HRH is the BEST!!! I recommend it highly.

We stayed at HRH and drove to WDW a couple of days (on Friday and Sunday). The traffic was not bad at all and it was a very short trip to WDW. No hassles at all. Matter of fact, it was pleasant. We leased our car at PBH, kept it parked at HRH and parked it at the PBH when we returned it. It couldn't have been more smoother and convenient. We went to AK, MGM and MK. We really enjoyed the versatility of doing both WDW and US at our pace and convenience, not a shuttle schedule.

I'll chime in as well. It is a short drive to WDW, 15 minutes usually. You can go on I-4 or the back roads which is a nice ride as well on 535. I have never run into traffic on 535 and there are only a few lights on the way. This is a nice shortcut if I-4 is backed up. Parking is free at the Disney parks if you have a park hopper and I have never had trouble finding a spot close to the front or close to a tram stop.
