What would the age(s) be that you are looking for? Last year we stayed at RPR because it looked more like a family resort instead. I have a DD (7), and then we had my 4 nephews (12,11,4,4) and my niece (8) and they all loved the pool and atmosphere the RPH had. The kids area at the RPH is larger and has a boat with water guns, and sprinklers that they loved. Since IOA was were we spent most the time this was nice because the walk over to IOA or Citywalk was only about 10 minutes.
We did go to the HRH and hang out at the pool one afternoon and had lunch. The pool was loads of fun, they had a slide that my DD loved and the activites that they had for the kids were more visable, the RPH has some too but the HRH has a stage area.
I liked the RPH the best though and we are going back there for the opening week of WWOHP and staying 5 nights. We do plan on pool hopping again just to get some variety.
We stayed at the Royal Pacific in March. It was too cold for us to spend much time in the pool, but my kids (7,8, & 3) really liked the resort a lot. They appreciated the beauty of the resort and had fun exploring the paths and trails around the back of the resort. The staff was excellent, too. The lady at check in gave them each a small toy and the lady working in the gift shop gave my son some free candy
Also, the rooms are beautiful and super comfy..they gave good coffee in the rooms, too
RPR is our fav resort, although have only stayed at PBH , and never at HRH as R&R and music theme just does not appeal to me.
We enjoyed PBH, but DD got bored as there was not a lot going on at the pool , and only so much sliding you can do.
There is lots of room at the RPR pool ,at the zero entry part where your DD could play and there is lots of seats around the edge , so easy to watch her
With a 3 year old I would go with RPR because the pool area will be more fun for her at that age. The zero entry and the shorter walk to Citywalk and IOA will also be a plus, unless you like to wait for boats
I'm excited to say I was finally able to get into RPR! I'm not sure what the heck is going on 5/16-5/18, but whatever it is, things are really booked up. Now if I can just catch a soft opening of WWoHP...
