I am heading to HRH with my husband, 16 year old daughter, and 2 sons, 15 and 10. We got the entertainment rate of $125 for two connecting rooms. I had originally booked RPH for $99, but decided not to risk it after reading alot of negative posts. I got the five day passes, ordered from the internet for 89.95. We also plan to go to Sea World for a day. I have learned a ton of tips from these boards, and am grateful for all of the help. We have never been to US/IOA before, and are really excited. We are flying in from Virginia, and renting a car, as we will be heading out to Cocoa Beach area the last few days of our trip. Does anyone know if fireworks will still be going on the 18th-22nd? Also, any special events at HRH, like the dive-in movies or concerts? Has anyone ever used the mini-bar fridges for their own stuff? What is your favorite nearby resturant for breakfast? Can local pizzerias deliver to your room at HRH (An important query for my teens!!)? And, last but not least, is health club free for us at HRH since I joined Loew's First? I joined months ago, and have never gotten the card, or a written confirmation, despite several requests. I do have statement showing charges for HRH x 2, and called hotel the other day to confirm, and discuss room preferences. They were very nice. Oh, and one last thing, do HRH rooms have robes? I start packing today! Thanks for any answers, and I will post upon our return.

I have never stayed at HRH so I can't help you there. I've heard reports on the fireworks that are yes and no. I am of the believe no. Now for the important thing i can help you with.LOL

Thank you so much Tammy, Flipper's sounds like just what I was looking for! I printed your reply with the phone #. Wow, you have triplets! You must really like PBH, maybe I should have booked there, but now I have the kids psyched about HRH. Expedia has a special get your fourth night free at PBH only, Each deluxe room would be about $609 for 4 nights, without tax etc. Thank you for your reply, we will be ordering pizzas, subs and salads for sure! Hope you have fun at PBH again. I think I am gonna have to call HRH for the other questions.

You should have free use of the gym with a Loew's First membership. Call Loew's 800 number and get your Loew's First number. It took me about a year and two phone calls to finally get my card.
There are no robes in the regular rooms. I think the club level has them. There is not much extra room in the mini bar fridge.

I'll second the vote for Flippers. It's kinda become a tradition now when we make the drive to Orlando for a weekend. It's a great change from the usuall big chain pizza shops. Good food, fast, decent prices, and open late!

Jim

Your very welcome. I am sure you will love the HRH. I would like to stay there sometime too. I tried to book it and it was all taken up for ent rate and I booked PBH instead and we are just spoiled rotten and would hate to be dissappointed at any of the others. Everyone has there favorites and HRH seems to be most peoples. We got three rooms at 180 a night each it was 599 per night for all the rooms they were del pool view rooms we loved it. Let me know what you think of flippers when you return home. Have a wonderful time.

Thank you all for your replies, from reading your posts I have learned so much useful stuff--I know I want corvina at Mythos, we are going to eat mainly at Citywalk, my husband can get cheap drafts whenever at NBA, order from Flipper's and bring a cooler for in-room drinks and snacks! I never would have known about Loew's First, AAA discount and five day internet discount, either. I am always designated family travel agent, and all of this info has been very helpful. Well, this is probably my last post until we get back on the 25th. We are leaving before dawn on Sunday, and I have to pack and do laundry for five. We have out of town company staying tonight, too, but I just couldn't say no. Hope all your trips are wonderful!~I know my kids will love FOTL and staying at the HRH. I'll post an overview when we get back, so happy trails to all.

I just called HRH Guest Relations to get some specifics. Very nice again. He took our Loew's First #, since I still have no card. Maybe this means we get the welcome goodies, but we do get use of health club. Also took my request for robes, said they'd be in our rooms. Said our kids eligible for Grade A program, cool, my husband's beer bill is scarey enough at a resort, so free cokes help. Fireworks over for now, but he mentioned some stunt show at the parks at the end of the night. Movies and concerts at HRH only on Fridays and Saturdays. I feel good about the HRH, they are very accomodating on the phone, anyway. This is really my last post til we get back.

Have a wonderful time I look forward to your trip report. And congradulations to the kids for the grade A program!!

Thanks for the information. We'll be at HRH in a few weeks, and I was also wondering about the robes. On the Expedia Web site, it said robes were available upon request. (I was looking at the PBH offer also - for deluxe, it works out to only $30 more total than HRH deluxe, but we also decided upon HRH for the kids.) I think I'll request the robes too! Also happy to hear about Grade A program, since I've already packed the kids report cards. I'm glad to know you've had good service via phone - it bodes well for the rest of the trip.

Have a great time!

comfortcove.... where did you find your 5 day passes so cheap???? thanks....corvair amy

I ordered my 5-day passes on-line at www.universalorlando.com

They're only good for 5 consecutive days. We're actually only going to be at the parks for 4 days, but it's the same price (or cheaper?) than the 2-day passes, which is why I purchased them for our trip. They were $89.95 each, plus one fee of $3.00 S&H (regular postal mail). I received them within 1 week (ordered on a Saturday, rec'd the following Thursday).

I just realized your count down is for 9 days mine says 12 and if your gonna be there 4 days well be visiting the parks at the sametime! So PLEASE don't eat ALL the pizza from Flippers Pizza let us some.:)

I'm sure there will not be a great pizza crisis when you visit. :)

Actually, Flipper's is good pizza. I think Pizza Hut is good, but not as good as Flipper's. A friend and I lived off pizza for a few days at HRH! :)

Actually, the way my two boys eat (especially the teenager) .......!

I'm definitely bringing along the Flippers Pizza info., my boys are always looking for a small snack between meals (and before meals, and after meals!).

Dang it! Ya'll are gonna eat up all the darn Pizza before I can get to town.LOL I should'nt give ya'll all my secrets.LOL
