A poster on the HRH info thread commented that the HRH is "not for everyone". Would anyone care to expand on that a little? DH, DD10, DS 8, and I plan to stay at HRH for 3 nights over Easter. We're fairly open-minded and we like music. Are we going to "fit in"? :thewave:

Try and read through all the posts on this board about HRH, everyone seems to have very different opinions on this place, some say it's very noisy, some do not like the "laid back attitude" of the employees, some think it's too outdated etc... I was just there for 3 nights in December with my family and we all loved it !!! we stayed club level, not sure if that makes a difference, but we loved everything about the HRH and we would definately go back in a heartbeat !!! The only thing I might have been "slightly" disappointed in is, maybe that it does need some updating .... the carpets on some of the floors need replacing , the tiles in the bathroom need some serious cleaning job or replacing... but other than that, I loved it !!! :flower1:

Of course you will fit in... it is a beautiful, fun hotel with great pool and rooms. Don't even think twice about it!

Remember, you can check out anytime you like... but you can never leave :D

We are in our mid 40-ies, were there with son 13, daughter 11 and we loved it.

Wife and I were smiling about the "being cool" attitude of the employees. This is not to be mixed up with being less friendly. The employees were very helpful and friendly.

We loved it, from my 2 year old to my 70 year old mother. Yes, the music is kind of loud in the lobby and at the pool, and yes there is a little bit of a party amto, and yes the employees are kind of laid back, but it is a superb hotel with great facilities, very good restaurants, and a 5 minute walk to two of the most amazing theme parks in the world, where you will not have to wait in line because you have FOTL!

Of the three onsite Universal hotels, this is DH and my least favorite but, (that being said) it is still a great place to stay. Each hotel has its own unique style. It's up to you to read through each of the descriptions and everyone's experiences to determine which hotel you feel will be "right" for you and your family.

And for what it's worth...you'll be in Orlando...on vacation...at a FABULOUS resort hotel!! Enjoy it!! No matter where you stay, it will be GREAT!!!!!

My opinion. We stayed at the HRH Club Level during May 2004. The room was was decorated ok. The bathrooms seemed small but I liked the design. I thoroughly enjoyed the 5 minute walk to USF's front gate. It had nice walking paths too. We did get lost one time. The kids enjoyed the pool area and we had fun with the dive in movie. My biggest complaint, the sound. I think we were on the 7th floor or so. Could hear the base sound coming from the pool area. It drove me nuts and I could not sleep at night. Also, housekeeping was either extremely understaffed or slow. Our room was hardly cleaned before 4pm. I complained when we got home, and they appologized for the housekeeping. AS far as the noise, they commented by saying this is the Hard Rock, what do you expect. I guess we're kinda quiet folks. My husband and family DS 14 and DS 12 prefer the RPR (despite the little longer walk).

I am going to the HRH in May and I am a very light sleeper. Do they play the music all night or just until a certain time? Do you suggest a room in a certain part of the hotel so as to not hear the music at night?

Thanks

HRH is not for me... PRP is for me!! I love the exotic south pacific theme at RPR and that is why I love it. Don't get me wrong HRH is a very nice resort, but I prefer RPR..the atmosphere, the friendly helpful staff, food, and the music and the hula dancers w/ the fire twirler every 6:30 by the pool.
