Just decided to add an extra trip this year over July 4th weekend. Taking DS16 and 16 year old niece and nephew so I thought HRH would be the best choice for this trip. Currently there are no AAA rates available. I have a feeling they have already been released and are gone. They didn't have any APH or FLO (my other niece from TPA will be joining us) rates for the HRH either. Any chance lower rates will be offered later or am I just late and/or out of luck this go round and will have to pay a price higher than I am used to? RPR has AAA rates but those rooms are too small for 5. With HRH, I am a Gold member and can get upgraded to a delux room.
Tx!

I booked my July 4th dates some time back and the HRH had no discounts or deals and that has not changed.I dont see any discounts with rooms filling up.

it's funny - we're trying to book a weekend in July and no rooms are available but if we punch in an entire week, the rooms magically appear. They must be holding blocks of rooms for people who rent for 1 week!

I am booked into HRH Deluxe for 3 nights mid August 08....I was able to get a AAA rate...

Here's how I got mine. I went to the AAA website and put in my dates (3 nights). The hotel I wanted, RPR came back as unavailable. I added one night to see if it would give me a room and it did. But then I looked at the terms and conditions that came up and it said that there was only a three night minimum stay for that right. I changed the dates back to my original dates (on the reservation page where I was, I didn't go back to the search page) and it let me do it and have the rates for three nights. I continued with the booking and have a confirmation for three nights at the AAA rate.

After we leave RPR we are going to St. Petes Beach for 2 days. The hotel I picked there wouldn't let me book anything less than 5 nights on their website, but the AAA site let me book 2 days at the AAA rate.

I've learned that if you work at it, sometimes you can make the system do what you want, even when it doesn't want to.

I can get 3 nights but not just two for the weekend in July. Oh, well I'll guess we'll just try Royal Pacific - cheaper anyway!

Thanks for the replies. I hate to pay so much but it looks like it will be $419/night for HRH Club. I may still switch to a deluxe room with my Gold card upgrade from a standard and do a major grovery store stop to stock up. DH has now decided he wants to join me and the three teens so I believe I will need the space in a delux. In fact, I think our better option is to book two separate rooms for 5 of us. Last year we paid $334 for a mid July reservation at HRH Club. I booked it in June but I forget if it was a FLO, APH or AAA rate but I definitely recall using some type of rate code. Maybe discounts will come out later but I doubt it for the July 4th time period. Will keep my fingers crossed.
Thanks again for your responses!

Keep trying..I booked directly through 800 number at Universal...AAA rate for 3 night stay during last 2 weeks Aug. is $275 per night deluxe room at HRH... I thought that was good, so I jumped on it.. I compared it to the rate with 2 breakfast included and the rate with $150 coupon savings and 2 movie passes, etc and I thought the $275 rate was much better...

The only inconvenience is they don't let you specify AAA on the Universal site..You must call....

Good luck!
