Tuesday The kids wanted to go to US in the morning. We hit the favorites early in the morning after a light breakfast at the hotel. DW got her sovenier shopping in. We ate lunch at Jimmy Buffet's. The burgers were good and the Volcano blew which was a fun way to end lunch. We went to the Horror make up show which was really good. DD loved the fake blood we loved the adult humor. As the host said "This ain't Disney"! We also went to Fear Factor.Let me say that I am not a fan of the show but the kids like watching the bug eating. Because of lightning the stunts weren't going to happen. So we got to see the bugs on the head of a woman in the box. Then the eating part. It was gross. If you were at the show with the woman in the white shirt who was as loud as the cast members you can see what alittle alcohol can do.!! By the way I asked the College age kid who won what he got thinking he would get some prize. He said that he got some type of Fast Pass.
We now took our time to hit the rides and shows we missed and headed out the park as this was going to be our last day. I promised our son we would eat at the Hard Rock Cafe during our trip and he called me on it. I have eaten at other HR's and the food isn't as good as other chains IMHO, but we went and he had a great time the staff makes up for any let downs with the food. We seemed to time it right because as we got to the front of US the Fireworks began.
Wednesday was the last day. Check out is at 11 and our limo pickup was 530 pm for an 800 flight. We were told we could use the pool after check out and change in the weight room, but we didn't want to bother with showeriing and wet clothes. We went IOA after checking out and storing the luggage. We of course went on Hulk and Dueling Dragons with FOTL still in place. We ate at the Cofisco Grill. The food was really good here. I hadn't seen too many Posts for this resaurant but the food was really good.
DS wanted to go Mummy for the alst ride DD wanted to go on Jimmy Nuetron so we split up. The Mummy was packed and we FOTL. The staffer was swiping the cards and they came up green. We returned in less than 15 minutes and it came up red. I said Oh well looks like thats it we'll head on out to go home. The staffer said enjoy your last ride on me and let us go
We were psyched!!
We met up and headed back to the HR. We killed some time in the lobby and both kids fell asleep on the couch. The limo came and my son couldn't believe it. It was an Escalde!! The dad cool factor went way up. The flight home was smooth and we are now back.
We had a great trip. Again I would like to thank all those who took the time to Post info for others to plan their trips. After talking my wife decided that Disney has lost its appeal for us. Our kids are older so they don't want to go back to the " Kiddie rides" She misses the little things the WDW used to do for its guests. Universal sometimes gets slammed for its ways on the boards but we had a great time. The staff everywhere did its best to try and please its guests. The grounds are clean and beautiful. And they have more to do for my family's age group. One thing that did seem out of place though was the amount of alcohol that Universal allows in its parks. Believe me I'm not a prude but at the end of the night acouple of times I did see people who had too much to drink. I know that hey could have brought their own but there is alot of booze in the parks. I also wanted to say that the FOTL more than paid for itself in getting us on almost any ride at any timeThe one other thing that I just remembered is if you have a AAA card you have to give it at every transaction and you get a discount. Over the course of the week it save us a substantial amount of money. I can't wait to go back. And I will still be lurking here. If you have any questions I can help with, just ask
