I have been reading a lot of negative comments regarding HRH and the conditions of the rooms/service levels. We already have reservations there - should I switch to RP? I am traveling with two pre-teen boys (which is why I picked HRH). Is it worth it?

Also, my state's 2005 Entertainment Book does not specifically list a coupon for Loew's hotels. However, there is a card inside that says it can be used for "additional discounts". When I called the resort they said that they do not know the discounts yet. Is that how it really works? Do I just keep calling and then buy the book if it is available? Thanks so much for your help and input!!

Our last 2 trips there this year (Jan and Aug) were both awesome - one problem with a late check-in, but we felt that the manager was very fair to us - and it was right after Charlie, so the place was packed. No problem with our rooms whatsoever (Jan trip 5 rooms, Aug trip 2). We're taking our DS and his friend back to HRH in Jan for his 16th birthday - if I'm travelling with a teen, that's where I'll stay - DS loves this place and feels so comfortable (and cool ;) ) there. In Dec. my sis and I are taking our little nephew (7) and will stay at RPR - also very nice, cheaper rates, and he would not be at all impressed by HRH - plus the water play area is great for younger kids!

You don't need an Ent book coupon, only the plastic card in the front of the book - last year the Ent rates did not come out until Nov. - if you want to be sure about having a room and will keep it with/without Ent rate, you can book at AAA or rack rate and hope to change rates when they come out- if you don't use Ent book at home, I wouldn't buy the book until I was assured I needed it (after you book the rate).:smooth:

We went in July and I was nervous before we go there that it would not live up to our "DIsney" expectations. In fact I had a problem right before we left with Guest Services that really left a sour taste in my mouth. That being said, let me tell you how much my family enjoyed HRH. We had a deluxe pool view room on the 1st floor that was in good shape and had absolutely no problems with housekeeping. The pool was great fun and my little ones really enjoyed the poolside activity. We rented a cabana and highly recommended it. We also really liked the "Kitchen" restaurant. Have a great time!

Yes, the HRH is worth it. The pool is fun, and the walk to USF is short. I think it comes down to luck. The problems people have at the HRH are due to so many checking out late, or self extending their stay. If you book a regular room, you probably won't have this problem. If you expect that your room won't be ready until 5pm, and you bring your own snacks in a cooler, and don't worry about a welcome gift, then you'll be ok.

Getting the Entertainment rate is all luck. You call them up and ask if it's available. Then keep calling back. Eventually, a good rate will magically appear on the screen and you can decide. The APH seems to be the better deal these days.

Stick with it for the boys - they will think you are so cool when they see the resort!!!!!!!!!!!!!
