HRH Early Check-In

We will be staying at the HRH for one night, prior to a week at Disney. So we won't be doing the parks. Just hanging out at the resort and relaxing by the pool. My question is can you request an early check-in. Has any one ever done this. Also, can you request connecting rooms? Has anyone ever paid for a standard view and got otherwise, w/o paying for it. Requested a room on an upper floor, in hopes of it.

You can check in as early as 7 am, but your roomsmay not be ready until 4 pm.

You can request connecting rooms.
