Given a choice, would you prefer HRH Deluxe room or Club Level? Are the bathrooms similar? I know room size is slightly smaller in a Club Level room. Are refrigerators in the Deluxe rooms?
Thanks.

Barb -

We stayed in a deluxe at HRH, and no, there isn't a firdge. You can rent one for $12 a day. We just used a disposable styrofoam cooler, and filled it with ice daily. There was a snack cabinet, but they never unlocked it, so I can't say how much room was in it. I believe the bathrooms are the same, with an extra sink outside.

I think Club rooms are same size as standard - 375 sq. ft, vs the 500 for deluxe. We thought about Club, but went with deluxe because:

- the extra pull-out sofa - our two boys didn't need to share a bed
- space (my DH and DS are over 6' - any extra space helps!). We were originally put into a standard room by mistake, and you'd be surpirised at the difference that extra 125 sq ft can make!
- cost. For the $35 more per night, it just wasn't worth it. We brought refillable water bottles, and bought gallons of water, beer, soda, and snacks. Over 5 days/4 nights, we probably only spent a total of $50 - much less than the extra $140 for Club level would have cost. Kids had the Grade A cards, so their soda was free anyway.

It really depends on what's important to you. We had a car, and stopped on at a grocery store outside of Orlando (much cheaper than on I-Drive). If you don't have a car, or there are only a few of you in the room, or you have young kids who don't mind sharing a bed, Club might be better.

dcookies, is there a program where kids can get free soda with their report cards? If so, does it apply to PBH and RPH also?

is there a program where kids can get free soda with their report cards?

Yes, it's actually a Loew's hotels program. Here's some information about it on Kelly Monaghan's site:

http://www.theotherorlando.com/updates/loewskids.html

When you check in, show your kids report card (only one A is needed), and they'll note "Grade A Kid" on your child's room card. They used to hand out bracelets, but I think all 3 hotels are just noting it on the cards now - much better, if you happen to have a teen! The kids can use it to get soda at any of the hotel restaurants just by showing their card (my kids hung out by the pool, and went to the bar there). It's also good for free dessert at the hotel restaurants, and Moms and Dads get free coffee. When I checked in, I mentioned the program and offered the report cards, but the clerk said she didn't need to see them.

If you look around the boards or search on Grade A kids, you'll see a lot of discussions. Loew's originally only advertised it for 2001, but we were there just a few weeks ago and it was still in effect. It's a great program!

Is the fridge in the deluxe rooms a mini-bar with lots of expensive goodies, or is it just a fridge? Looking for a place to cool my Diet Pepsi when we're there in 2 weeks!!.

It was a mini-bar with lots of goodies. They never unlocked ours - we could have asked, but figured it would be too tempting for the boys - so I don't know how much room was in there. There was a menu on top - one of those fill-out-yourself forms. I didn't really pay too much attention, except to notice that candy bars were $2.

You can also ask for a refrigerator (I assume it would be a small, dorm-size one), but they charge $12 per day, which I thought was a little high.
