HRH club level worth the money?

We booked a pool view room at the HRH at $144.00 for 3 nights . I'm thinking of maybe upgrading to club level at $100 more a night. Is it worth the extra money? We've stayed Polynesian concierge at WDW the last few times and loved it there. We're going late August.

We stayed at the HRH Club Level last year and was definately not worth it. It is nothing like WDW level. Save your $100

I don't exactly remember what was served, but it was boxed cookies (oreos and the like) and people grabbing bottles of beer...when it's gone its gone, not replenishing. People wait in line 15 min before the slop is served so when you get there, its all gone. I do remember seeing little hot dogs in bbq sauce one afternoon....

With the money you save buy treats and enjoy them in your room:) We always stay at concierge or club level, but this was THE most disappointing.

Absolutely agree with gonga

Save your $$$ - we stayed in HRH Club last August and wouldn't rush back.

It was a bit like a "rush for the trough" and nowhere to sit as all the seats had been taken.

Sure, it was nice to have the "special" lift key but that's about it.

Welp, *my* experience was quite different.

I found the offerings better than that of the WDW Contemporary concierge (14th floor)...as well, there were no people "waiting in line for 15 minutes," while the cookies were freshly baked in leiu of "boxed Oreos."

Wow...waiting in line for a continental breakfast takes longer than the Express line for MIB?:teeth:

Also found that when they were out of something...I asked, and promptly received.

I'm heading to the HRH Club level today, so if you like, I'll let you know if there's been any changes and how it was when I return over the weekend.

Yes, I'd also be very interested in how your stay goes. I've been to Club Level at HRH three times in the past and had two good experiences and one awful one. Perhaps it depends on either the time of year or possibly even the other guests at the time. I'd love an update with a recent stay. Have a great time!! Looking forward to hearing about it.

OK...just returned from HRH Club level this weekend, so here's the 411:

Cont. breakfast...the norm: cereals, muffins, toast, fruit, danish and doughnuts, along w/juices and coffee.

At dinner hour (5pm-7pm) they had two main "offerings" each night (one night was chicken skewers w/peanut sauce and spring rolls, another was quesadillas and meat tomales, 3rd was a cold pasta salad along w/a tray of meatballs), along w/assorted cheeses and crackers, crudite w/dressing, red and white wines, Heinekin, Bud and Bud Lite.

Whenever they even got close to running out, they brought more...and they kept the offerings later than scheduled.

After that, they had chocolate and vanilla pudding along w/assorted cookies (they had the oreos out in the evening!) and rice crispie treats until 10pm.

There was *always* an assortment of sodas, lemonade and iced tea available, along w/plenty of bottled water...

I was there from Wed. until Saturday, and there was *never* a line or a "rush for the trough." There were almost always seats available...it did become crowded Friday evening and had a "cocktail party" feel..lotsa laffing and happy people...but still, there was no wait for food or drinks what-so-ever.

My family (4) got seats each morning w/o problem...but we found ourselves grabbing food in the evening and bringing it back to the room in leiu of eating at the concierge (we were one door down from the food in a kids suite).

Don't know what they had throughout the day...we were never there.

Is it worth the extra $100? Depends on what you wanna pay for convenience. Me, I get sick of the continental breakfast thing...but since we wanna get ready quickly, it's easy and fast... so it's a "personal" decision.

The Club level food isn't to replace meals (other than breakfast), and you'd undoubtedly come out ahead doing your own "a la carte" thing...but again.... CF (convenience factor).

And the evening fare helped curb appetites so that we could eat later...and less. We found ourselves always *starving* around 6pm...so munching let us relax a bit in the hotel before going out to CityWalk later.

And room service is very expensive...as is the breakfast buffet (around $50 for family of 4) but good. We ate (dinner) in The Kitchen twice...both times it was under $40, and the food was excellent!

dylcon,

Thanks for the detailed report. I appreciate the info as I too have booked a CL room for HRH and was wondering if it was worth the extra cost.

A couple of questions if you have a minute, what type of sodas did they have available? NEED Diet Coke and Pepsi wont do... . Also, how was the coffee? DH is kind of a coffee snob. :teeth: Were there cookies out in the evening *besides* the oreos? My family loves the big, "fresh baked" ones we get as our welcome gift. Did you see those out at any time?

Again, thanks for the details, it puts my mind at ease that we will not have the "run for the troughs" which would be a bit unpleasant.

Hi Deb...lemmesee here...if memory serves, they had Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite and Ginger Ale...

They keep the area well-stocked w/those little 'half-cans' and you can take what you want.

Also, how was the coffee? DH is kind of a coffee snob. :teeth:

Coffee was good/strong...however I might not be the best to ask, as other than needing it to "jump start" my day, I'm not a huge coffee drinker.

They had Oreos, chocolate chip, and sugar cookies...but not the big "fresh-baked!"

Don't know what they have out during the day tho...but you could call the hotel direct, and ask for concierge...407-503-7625

Hope this helps...

What dates are you going? $144 is a great rate!!!!! I agree with the other posters. I would stay there, but not club level.

I booked it a few months ago using the entertainment book. We're going late August. I read that some dates are sold out using this discount. Good Luck!:Pinkbounc

dylcon: Thanks for the nice review!!

letsbgoofy,
I see your trip is soon, Please let us know how it goes and your opinion of whether the club level is wortht the exttra $$$ at the HRH. We will be there in August with two teens and I'm trying to decide whether to try for it. Your input will be very helpful.
Have a great trip and I can't wait for the trip review!!

music,

I will post when I get back. We loved RPR CL last year and I am a little nervous about the bad HRH reveiws.

Letsbegoofy,
My trip is two months away and yours is sooo soon!! I hope you have a great trip. I also can't wait for your trip report.Where are you from in NY? We lived in Rochester for many years before relocating.

Music,

I tried to post from the Dolphin, but it looks like it didn't go through.

We were pleased with the CL at the HRH. We never saw huge crowds or rude, pushy people as others have posted.

At happy hour they had: cheese cubes (no crackers, I thought that a little strange), veggies and dip, beer and wine both nights we were there. The first night they also had little meatballs and rolls. The second night they had chicken on a stick and veggie egg rolls (yum).

breakfast was bagels, a good selection of doughtnuts, cereal, fruit salad, and some delicious multi-grain bread for toast.

Evenings were Chips Ahoy and Oreos both nights. The first night there was also chocolate and vanilla pudding and rice krispie treats. The second night there were also large fresh baked cookies.

As far as I know all food was restocked quickly (we didn't stay in the lounge at night but took our snacks back to our room). We never saw big lines, or couldn't find a place to sit.

Our kids liked to hang out in the lounge in the afternoon and watch movies as there were never any other people there (it was HOT last week). The one day we had take out pizza and they ate lunch while they watched tv in the lounge. The chairs near the tvs all have tables attached.

My one complaint is that the drinks are not kept cold. I don't mind adding ice to my soda (Coke, Diet Coke and Sprite), but I don't like ice in my bottled water.

It was worth the extra money for us, I think we drank that much water every day! The boys liked having a place to get away from us, it was almost like having another room.

Hope you enjoy your trip!

Thanks so much for the info! It gives me "Food for thought".
I'm glad you enjoyed your trip. My brother was at Disney lsat week also and said it was at least 100 degrees!! I hope August will not be that hot!! LOL!!!
Is there any advise you have for is newbies?
Thanks again
