HP & Deathly Hallows Discussion **SPOILERS***

I'm halfway through although DH is ahead of me and keeps asking me if I have got to certain bits yet which I haven't read and keeps giving bits away!!!! I told him to stop it!!

Got my book at Waterstones at about ten past midnight - couldn't believe the queue by then - twice round the shop and then out the door and a few hundred metres throught the shopping centre.
I finished it about 7 this evening and really loved it - but it's a definite 2 box of tissues book, from the ***** of ****** right through until the bit where ***** knows that ** **** ***.

See - no spoilers here.:)

Our two books arrived at 7:45 this morning via Mr. Postman (ordered from Tesco).

Just finished mine and DW is a little behind (she had to stop reading to feed me LOL).

Brilliant book, couldn't put it down if I wanted to :)

I must admit I shed a tear or two at the end. Thought it tied up nicely though some of it didn't pan out as I'd expected - I thought Hagrid was going to be pivotal.

I was in the queue for ten hours, and got my book the second it was out, but then I got a fever and terrible headache, so I had to sleep instead of reading through the night as I was planning. Got it done during the day though, I simply stayed in bead reading

got mine at the asda at midnight

finished reading it about 4 yesterday

i really enjoyed it especially the end i like things tied up like that

I've just finished it. I tried to stay up last night to finish but sleep got the better of me. It certainly was one of the more readable Harry Potter books, very enjoyable.

I must admit to reading the epilogue first though. I always read the last chapter of a book first - I've been caught out a few times though as some books have the first chapter of the author's new book printed at the end of their current one!

This thread is strangely spoiler free for a thread marked **SPOILERS**, are we to talk about it or not?

Anyway, really enjoyed it - tried to stay awake last night but sleep got the better of me. Loved the last few chapters, nothing like a good twist. I'm looking forward to seeing the film, the battle scenes will be great. I can also see where future stories may be told, though to be honest I hope they are not.

I hadn't intended to read the book. Since it was a gift I thought I would give it a try. I'm so glad that I did. Shed a few tears along the way but what a cracking read. Pleased with the ending and now can't what to see the final two films.

I am also done - up at 6am yesterday and very glad I have finished before going back to work and all the spoilery people I work with!

Loved it! - I'm currently feeling smug that I was right about Snape and a bit suprised that Ginny didn't play a bigger part.

Think I will start the second reading tomorrow :)

Finished mine this morning, and has already been said, it was a cracking read.

I must admit that I would have prefered either a more fleshed out epilogue or no epilogue at all so either my questions were answered or it was left open to answer them in another book.

I do hope JKR revisits this world though imo I think it would work better with a new set of protagonists (say set after the epilogue, "Hogwarts, the next generation!" :rotfl2:)

Maybe the survivors of the original series could be in the new one as cameos in a sort of "dumbledore" role of people who've "Been there and done that."

For a spoiler thread I kept that surprisingly spoiler free didn't I? :)

Just finished an hour ago! Only got it at 10.30am (postman was late, I almost tackled him when I saw him coming down our drive!).

We decided to only get 1 copy so we read the book to each other out loud, so it took longer!

We both loved it, fantastic ending, and I do think there is scope there for writing more. Especially with that thing still in the Forest somewhere...

I read mine on the way to and from our tennis match. An interesting read! Some very nice bits like the section with Kreacher.

I spent most of Saturday reading it, and I loved it :yay: Some very emotional parts, and I loved the ending :goodvibes

Just finished and so happy with the ending, feel like I have been on a roller coaster for the past few days and now I don't know what to do with myself.:) Fantastic story.

Think I will go off and start a single digit dance, my son is desperate for me to start one.:goodvibes I am still away in HP land at the moment though.

I think it was the best of the 7, it was sooo good, tied up loads of little things like what Dumbledore would see in the mirror and why the Bloody Baron was bloody. I cried loads and couldn't stop thinking about it for hours after I finished. I am really glad that Snape turned out to be good guy, and was in floods when Harry said he was the bravest person he knew to his son. I wished they said in the epilogue what they all did for jobs though. And what was she on about "2 people die" loads of people died.

She said if she wrote anymore books they would be for charity but I hope she leaves it as it is unless she comes up with a really good idea so as not to spoil it.

I think she meant 2 extra people died than she'd originally planned. I thought this book would tie up a lot of loose ends but the epilogue just made me think of more questions.

BTW Did Draco really get the dark mark? - I'm not sure if that was definitely answered in either book even though I've read them both.

No I don't think he did as it says that he is trying to convince one of the Death Eaters that he is on their side in the battle at Hogwarts when Harry saves him a second time.

Oh yes probably not then, I didn't put 2 & 2 together on that one, thanks.
