Hands down the best ride I have ever been on. It captures everything about Harry Potter that I love! The ride que is outstanding. The 3D effects are superb. The ride is fluid and isn't jarring. If this is the direction Universal is headed, then Disney needs to take notice...

I was reading in Orlando you can tour the castle without queuing for the ride. I get terrible motion sickness but I'd love to see the inside. Do you know if US Hollywood allow this as well?

I think once you get through the line to the front you can just say you don't want to ride and they'll let you leave through the exit which is on the same side I believe

I rode it for the first time at USH (I've done it at UO) and I'm now retired from the ride.

The addition of the glasses meant that now I've got glasses smashing into the sides of the restraints, not just my head. Mine didn't fit well and I had to keep a hand on them.

It was just unpleasant. And the ride is spiders and dementors so where's the fun?

Retired. :)

My wife got quite sick afterward...it's something about the combo of 3D glasses and movement for her.... :(
oh no! I don't do well with 3D and movement! I will ride Star Tours for my kids, but I keep my eyes closed almost the whole time or I'll get sick.

I sometimes feel sick on Star Tours, and sometimes it is fine. When I do - I close my eyes for a bit. Any advice on if this approach will get me through. I would hate to miss it - but also hate to be sick the rest of the day. The only Disney ride I don't do is ToT, because I absolutely hate losing my stomach. Not sure I will do Jurassic at USH either.

Jurassic is more like Splash Mountain than TOT.

I feel sick on Star Tours frequently. I have been on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey 3 times. The first 2, I didn't feel a thing. This past time, I did get a little nauseous, but closing my eyes worked. So I'd say if it works for you on Star Tours, it should work on this, too.

Jurassic isn't that bad. I agree that it's more like Splash Mountain, so if you can handle that, you'll be fine.

Hollywood doesn't offer a tour but Kontos is correct. You can "tour" the Castle and then
not get on the ride.

Thanks! Excited to know I can try this great attraction. I actually did ride Jurassic once - and it was traumatizing for me. I foolishly didn't see the entire hill, just the part that pops out exposed at the bottom - and I had never dared Splash, or any roller coaster, at that time. I remember climbing the hill thinking - OH NO, and I closed my eyes thinking I wouldn't know I was falling until half way down and that would help - and then there was a count down and I full on panicked. It looks like the ride has lap bars of some kind now, but it didn't then, and I was on the floor - not in the picture at all. This was in 97 I think. I asked if there was a drop on every single attraction for the rest of the day. I do ride Splash Mtn now - I don't love it - but my kids do and I can deal with it for the few seconds of the drop, so maybe I'll try Jurassic again, too

aww fine i guess i will have to tour the castle then chicken out man. I know when i go i did not want to ride it because 3d does not work for me with my eye sight and glasses, but now I'm sad because I did not want to wait in say a 90 minute line just to see the castle at a snails pace.

I do get motion sickness in the back seat of a car, but I had no trouble with HP and the Forbidden Journey. I also went on it about 3 times in an hour, all with no trouble. I had a lovely lunch at the three Barron's sticks right after.

On a side note, the butterbeer is so sweet it made me a little queasy when I tried to finish my glass. If I had butterbeer and then rode it I might have a different story to tell.
