SIAP... I rode this ride yesterday for the first time in about 6 months, and I noticed changes to the video screen portions of the ride. For example, they got rid of the brick scenes that begin and end the ride and replaced them with a cheesy psychedelic looking pattern. Why did they do this? The bricks were MUCH better. On a positive note, it looks like they improved the resolution and frame rate of the entire video. It looks much sharper now, brighter, and more realistic looking. I noticed details I never noticed before.

I agree that I don't get why they changed the start and end of the ride like that. It made no sense to me at all.

They are changing things to make it less of a puke-fest. Apparently all of the projectors are being replaced so the screens may seem bright right now.

The psychedelic part is supposed to simulate your trip via the flue powder. The other trip through the bricks was causing a lot of motion sickness (myself included).

The first time I rode it, I was sick within two seconds of entering the bricks. What a disappointment.

I preferred the bricks, myself.... but I do get that they're trying to simulate the effect of floo powder, which is described as green flames in the books and is shown that way in the movies. (Except for Prizoner of Azkaban... I'd like to have words with whoever decided to use the ridiculous "cinders that look like Sirius" effect in that movie. Ugh.)
