My mom and I are planning to visit WWoHP for a (half) day in December and I want to go to both Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. We want to enter through Universal. I've heard that we will be able to buy a ticket for Uni only but take the Hogwarts Express to both sides of WWoHP. My question is about exiting the park. According to Touring Plans, the wait to get on the train to go back to Uni will be an hour long. Does anyone know if we'll be able to exit directly from IoA? Honestly, our exit will decide which side we visit because I don't have any desire to waste an entire hour just waiting to get back out. We only have half a day (we won't be doing all the rides, mostly just wandering around). Thanks in advance!

You will need a park to park ticket to experience the Hogwarts Express.

You can not visit both Hogsmead and Diagon Alley with a single park ticket. You MUST buy a park to park ticket. You have to show your ticket that allows park to park access in order to ride the Hogwarts Express. If you buy a single park ticket you will not be able to visit both parks.

1. You need to have a ticket to both parks in order to ride the train. A ticket to Universal Studios alone won't do it.

2. No one knows how long the wait will be for the train at this point. I've read rumours that you may even get a ticket for a particular return time, rather than waiting in a queue, but again... no one knows.

Yeah, I just found this out. I'm not even sure if it's worth going at this point...

Truthfully, it might not be worth it. Better to save the money and come back another time when you can spend a whole day (or two or three) in the parks and enjoy the entire Wizarding World.

That's what I'm thinking. I've already seen the side that's open and my mom won't get another chance to go, but she doesn't care about HP all that much to begin with. I really want to go to Ollivander's and get some butterbeer, but I'm not sure if $96 is worth it for a half day if we only get to go to one half. Biggest downside is that I'm not planning to go back until next May. :(
