Howto make Universal app think you're there?

I recall reading that you can edit a setting on Android phones to make the Universal Wait Times app think you are in the parks (thus providing actual wait time estimates). Unfortunately, I cannot find that thread now. Does anyone know a link to this information? I'm assuming it's a change in DNS settings but I'm not certain.
Thanks for your help.

I can't get mine to work. I enabled gps and fake locations and picked a spot at universal... where are the wait times supposed to show up?

Make sure you touch the orange start button in the bottom right corner of the GPS Faker app after you have selected your "location".

When you open the Universal app, where it says "Rides - Shows - Dining" the RIDES button is replaced by WAIT TIMES if the GPS faker app is working properly or if you're actually in the parks.

According to the GPS Faker app:
Make sure you disable Wifi positioning/mobile locations under main Android Location Settings and leave "GPS ONLY" on...

Let us know if you get it working.
Good Luck!

OK I got it. I also had to turn off 'let Google use your location for searches' Wow, it looks like a great time to be at universal! I'll check times again when things get busy so I can get a better idea what spring break will be like.

:cool1:
So glad to hear it got it working auntyjenn. Yes, the lines have been VERY short all this week...

I too will be watching the wait times veeery closely during the week of Thanksgiving, especially the three days following Thanksgiving. Those are three of the busiest days of the year and should give us a good idea what to expect when we're there the week of Christmas.

Is there anything available on iPhone to do this. I can't find the same app in their store and I've tried a couple and it doesn't seem to work.

I also tried to get it to work on my daughters iPhone, with no luck. As far as I can find through internet searches, there's no way to edit the GPS location on an iPhone like you can on an Android device *.

I can't get the Universal wait times to show up even when I'm at the park. It says Universal is now using your location and it still doesn't work. Stupid app.

Why does Universal make you be there before you see the wait times?

Who knows, early version of Disney's app (before MDE) did the same thing as does the Seaworld/Busch Gardens app. About the only thing I can think of is bandwidth concerns and large groups of people pulling wait time data all day like EasyWDW.com does with Disney's wait times.

On the Iphone front, I don't have an Iphone and a quick internet search only yielded results for older versions of IOS and most of them required Jailbreaking.

I downloaded the "UO Waits" app for my iphone. It probably isn't as accurate, but better than nothing. It looks like the times are user submitted so they possibly don't get updated as often, but I downloaded the official app and a gps faker on my Fiance's android phone and the times were all pretty close on both apps. (:
