How's this for a Disney Store 'deal'?

I was out doing some last minute shopping today, for my WDW trip a few days off, and low and behold, I come across a Disney Store. Now, I have not really 'shopped' a Disney Store since they went to the 'toys and Princess' inventory a year or so ago. I have stopped in a few, but made quick exits after about 2 minutes in them.

After reading several threads here on the DIS (ya just gotta love this place ::MickeyMo), telling of how much they have improved of late, (with adult items again, some collectibles, etc) I thought I would go in and give it a look.

Well, I did come across this nice, well made (looks like it at least), nicely detailed, hooded Mickey 75th birthday sweatshirt.

(A classic character for classic style. Celebrate Mickey's 1928 Disney Debut on our full-cut sweatjacket. Zip-front with ''Mickey'' zipper pull, contrast drawstring hood, embroidered art on chest, ''Classic Character'' woven patch on pouch pocket, ''M'' patch on sleeve. Ribbed cuffs and hem. 80% cotton/20% polyester.)

I was originally looking at a Grumpy one (same, just diiferent color and details), but, even though I have been known to be a 'grump' at times, LOL, I thought I would opt for the more innocent looking Mickey. ::yes::

Normally, $39.50, was on sale, 50% off, plus my Disney Club discount (sure going to miss that 1/1/04 :() of another 10%, and total was down to $18. Should be good on the chilly evenings at WDW the next few days.

And I did tell the CM's to please pass on to management that I was pleased to see the return of the items we all missed. I also told them that the visitors to a Disney Internet BB (the DIS) were also talking happily about the return of the items we missed. They agreed wholeheartedly, they missed them too.

Anyhow, that was my deal today. :teeth: I know, not much, but I liked it, LOL. :wave2:

Good deal Dan! I just recently got a cool Mickey Denim jacket when they had 20% off the entire store.

Wow Dan good find. When I was in the one near here they didn't have one of those :( I'll check again at another on saturday because it looks very nice.

We were just at The Disney Store at our local mall tonight. They were doing this special where if you spend $50, you get a free DVD or VHS movie. Not a bad deal! They had all the Christmas things 40% off and their snowglobes $20 off! They had tons of things in the store. We were going to buy that Grumpy jacket like the one you mentioned, but they did not have DH's size.

How is your trip going, Dan? Hug Mickey for me, okay?

Dan: I sure could use a pick me up & I I may just have to get a motorized cart on Friday to do some shopping. Sure wouldn't have the energy to walk around just yet.

I went in there today "just to look" ... The snowglobes at our store were $20 off... so I bought DH the Mickey's 75th year because he loves Steamboat Willie... Also, DD a nightgown and underwear both 20% off... with my DC and the $10 gift certificate I got when I pre-purchased Nemo and Lion King, it ended up costing me what the snowglobe was in the first place... without tax...plus I got 2 DVDs free... FYI, the saleslady at our store told me they have no idea yet of the specials for this weekend other than that 7-10 am EVERYTHING in the store is 20% off including sale prices...

Ooo, must be the same day I shopped! ;) Everything was 20% off, in addition to sales, in addition to my 10% DC discount. It was GREAT! Got DS 2 t-shirts for $20, Haunted Mansion and Pirates and, a bunch of little stuff. I also had $50 in Reward money so, I came out of there $6+ ahead (for the next trip). :D

AND, for anyone still reading..... I have a coupon for $20 off a $75 purchase which is valid 12/1-12/7, to the first one who PM's me. Only good AT TDS.

Enjoy your trip Dan!

I'm getting one for hubby for Christmas... I liked it!

Very good deal Dan! Pam bought one of those when we were at the Stratford Mall for the Dis meet and paid full price for one.:( She'll be bummed when she finds out what you paid for it! I sure wish our Disney Store here didn't close.:(

I may have to check it out over the weekend.

That is a great deal Dan!!! I got that sweatshirt a while ago (didn't get near the deal you did)... but mine is coming with me when I go to WDW as well.

It's a great one and even worth it to have paid almost full price!!!

Dan - what a deal! DH would love it. I might have to go shopping there tomorrow.

Haven't been to our local TDS for quite a while. Maybe I'll brave the crowds early tomorrow morning just to have a look.

Thanks for the (hooded) heads-up Dan:earsboy:

I'm glad to see the return of adult clothing! DH got me a Tinkerbell sweatshirt from TDS for my birthday last week!

It did not appear to be available online, wuv tigger. Sounds like the Disney Store may be getting busy again, with a little help from the DIS. And yes, AZKathy, the trip is coming along, need to pack soon.

Curse you Dan Murphy. After reading your thread, I knew that I had to go visit the local Disney Store. Not only did I buy the hooded sweatshirt (which I agree was a great deal for $20), I spent another $80 on clothing and gifts. I guess the only saving grace is that I did get to use my Disney Club discount, perhaps for the last time before it expires at the end of December.
