How's this b-day idea?

I was reading tips on how to celebrate a birthday in the park and one idea was to bring party hats for your child and a character. So go see Mickey and have a photo taken with them both in matching party hats. I thought that was kinda cute but would the hat stay on and how I would get the hats to Orlando without crushing them? So I thought I would bring a Happy Birthday banner with me to hold up when we celebrate my son's 3rd birthday at the Crystal Palace. I even saw some Pooh banners at an online birthday supply store. I may buy both Pooh and Mickey-go see Mickey at his house. They had lots of other Disney themed banners as well.

Carry the hats in a coffee can or something such as that. Or go to the crafts store & get a paper mache container. Anything sturdy like that won't allow the hats to get crushed under normal travel. Because I'm assuming the characters costumes are made of fabric & foam, you could "attach" them to their heads with opened safety pins. (Not your sons!) Just sort of use them like anchors. (Does that make sense?) Anyway, this sounds like a great photo op! Good idea! Have fun!

Thanks for the coffee can idea. We don't drink that much coffee-just use those bags but I could use a big powdered formula can.

I was thinking that we'd take a group photo of me, DH, DS(turning 3), DD(4 1/2) and DD(1). So DH & I could just hold the banner. Might not work but we could always hang it up in the room....worth a try.

Sounds cute ... don't forget to get a b'day pin at City Hall and tell your waiter that you're celebrating a b'day!!!

I hope you don't mind if I steal your idea for the B-day hats. DS will turn 3 on October 6th..but we will have 14 people at Donald's Breakfastsourus at 8:10 on the 5th. I might bring party hats for everyone including the characters and see what happens..hopefully they will be happy to oblidge! Thanks for the great idea!!!
