How's the view for Illuminations @ Tepan Edo?

I have dinner scheduled for a party of 15 for 8:10pm one night of our trip, which puts us in Tepan Edo for Illuminations. My family has already seen Illuminations (and really want to see it again), but it will be the first time for the other 10 people in our party. Will this be as good a viewing spot as they say it is? Will it be obstructed at all? Should we rush out of the restaurant and get a spot closer to the water?? I haven't been to Tepan Edo before, so I'm not sure where it is and it's proximity to the area where Illuminations takes place.

I don't believe Tepan Edo has a view of Illuminations. Tokyo Dining does though.

The pp is correct. Teppan Edo does not have a view of Illuminations...Tokyo dining does from a few window seats

The tables in Teppan Edo are in individual rooms at the back of the pavilion. There are no windows at all. You will not be able to see Illuminations from there. I do not think you will be able to go into Tokoyo Dining to view from there, as you would be crowding over diners sitting at their tables trying to eat, if you did.
With an 8:10 ADR I believe you will still be eating your meal.

Uuuggghhh!!! I think I misunderstood. I thought Tepan Edo was the one you could see Illuminations from. It is the one that they cook right in front of you right?? I picked it for those 2 reasons. Is the view at Tokyo Dining worth me not having the hibachi grill experience ?

Tappan Edo is the one where they cook at the table. You won't be able to see Illuminationa since there are no windows in the place where you eat. Beside that the building faces sideway to the lake so even if there were windows you would be facing the wrong way. As a previous poster said, there is no way you will even be close to being done in time to go outside and see illuminations.

Ok, thanks guys. I'm really glad I posted this question!! I had no idea there were 2 different TS restaurants in Japan!

I talked to the others in our group and they really wanted to do Tepan Edo, so I called and luckily got an earlier reservation. So, now we will be able to eat and still have time to see Illuminations
